FlatOut 2: Anyone Still Playing?

I still love this game! I thought it was interesting that X-Play voted it the Number 1 Racing Sim of 2006. I know several won't agree with that, but, I'm a diehard fan of this one.

I really had a gripe, though, with the changes they made to some of the stunts! But, once I got the hang of the new way to do things, it's quite fun.

Here's a recent result of the bowling stunt:

Three Strikes to Finish!

Anyone gotten all Strikes?

Am I still playing, hell yeah! It's one of those games that you keep having installed and return to a little now and then. The combination of league racing and fun makes me want to start over again and again. Some stunts still annoy me though like Rings of Fire.

I think I've gotten all strikes once but don't have a screenshot to prove it..., umm hang on...

Yeah, that Ring of Fire really got to me quite a bit, too. But, I have gotten a good score on it a time or two. The Ski Jump had me going crazy for a long time until I realized they had changed the way it worked. Remember in the original you could hold down the key/button for slowmo? Well, it works a whole lot differently in FO2!

And, I've started over and over and over. I've lost count of how many times so far, but, whenever I install on a new system, this is one of those that gets installed almost immediately!

(Of course, Oblivion is another. )

But, the stunt that really gets me bummed is the Stone Throwing. I've completely lost it a few times and wanted to punch the monitor. LOL!

Almost. Very almost... (Kaziglu is my gaming alter ego.)

Yeah stone throwing took a while to get the feel for. Not until recently have I really started to own the computer at crash derbys, unless I get an unlucky start then it's best to give up. The other drivers seem to smell the blood when you get seriously damaged. Especially that ass Frank Malcov, lol.

Ohhhhh...I think I've gotten the 'secret' of winning the Crash Derbies. I've done really, really well with them.

The Plank (1967)

One of the many random fun things that happen to you in a Flatout 2 race.

Yes, indeedy!!

One thing, though, I miss from the original FO: When drivers crash through the windshield, they don't 'linger' in FO2 like they did in FO. I had some of the most hilarious experiences in FO due to how the drivers lingered a little while. Example:

I had my passenger door swinging open and closed going down the track and a car behind me crashed. His driver flew forward and got caught on my open passenger door! For 200 yds down the track, that driver was hanging on for dear life!!! I almost couldn't keep racing due to laughing so hard!!

And, I've had so many objects get caught in my car like what you posted.

The name of this game is F-U-N!! and, F-U-N-N-Y!!!

I have the game installed (Steam) and I think I finished the races. Perhaps I will give it another go.
One thing I noticed was that I find the keyboard more responsive than the pad.
Good game, though I never liked the stunts (1 or 2).

I just hope when the next game arrives, the cars will be better to drive. As they are now it is like either all the roads are ice covered, there are anvils in the back of the cars, or anyway, you get what I am saying.
