Black Mesa: A Half-Life 2 Modification

I've been keeping a close eye on the Black Mesa Mod team, and sofare I've seen nothing but good things.

This mod is a total coversion of the Original Half Life into the Source Engine. This is much different then the source version of Half-Life Valve put out.

Most of you probably do not realize that Half-Life was redone using an updated graphics engine by Valve for the Dreamcast., This was never released. This version was to become the Dreamcast version of Half-Life.

Anyhow this differes from Source because the redone Source version is not the original Half-Life. Valve had taken things out and replaced many textures and Weapons - actually changing some, an example the MP5.

This mod is sure to be a hit, so I urge you to keep an eye out for when it's released.

Yep, been following it since, well the beginning, it should come out in about, oh 20 years or so.
Its been in development many years.

Seems to be the problem with most decent mods. The most promising ones never get finished.

On a kind of related topic (well it has the word half-life in it if that counts) I just checked Steam and HL2-Episode1 is up for a bargain $9.95, thats about £5GBP and £15GBP cheaper than the shops.

And back on topic that mod looks pretty amazing. Im going through a bit of a HL phase at the moment.

I've been watching this mod since December 04, when it was announced it was being developed, it will be released one day (Hell, even Fortress Forever got a release), but my hype for the game has descended to nil, shame

I visit the site once a month and listen to it's soundtrack, fucking awesome soundtrack if you are a half-life fan
