i think the torrents are slow as hell. my torrent will be finished about 2 weeks after i buy the game at this rate.

im already buying it been on preorder like forever lol
i want to see what i waited so long for also if its crap i will stop my preorder.

either way if its good i will buy it. cant test it though untill after i move house lol, im currently in the middle of moving so i wont be on the net at all for a few weeks or months untill i get back and try the game i can then come in this thread and find out what you guys think of it.

Hmmm seems a lot of you folks forgot that Driverheaven doesn't support warez in any form, and neither do we discuss it in the forums.

So I'd like it if you'd refrain from actually saying you're downloading whatever version of the game on the forums ok? Otherwise, this "official" thread will be closed.

Actually the last i heard was you where allowed to talk about it but not post links where to get it ect.

there is nothing wrong with freedom of speech..
warez is talked about everywhere you go lol unless your stuck under a rock.

If you want you can also close the Biohazard thread aswell, i wonder why its took you so long to close that thread ehh. as that thread was started with warez discussion.. and what about all the other threads aswell, you want to close those aswell ?

You misunderstand Virus, and no need to get all offensive.

Just try and talk more about the game and less about what torrents are active and their download speeds shall we? We aren't policing all the threads but do try to keep the thread on topic and about Stalker.

I immediately had problems with Stalker, the opening cut scene was chugging away like a slideshow and when I began in the small room with the trader it was the same fps. I lowered the quality to medium and turned off HDR and when I went outside if I look away from the buildings it's smooth as butter but if I turn even a few degrees towards anything the fps immediately goes down to 1-3fps.

Currently doing a defrag, splitting page file to 2 separate non OS drives and I'll give it another go. I'm optimistic it'll get sorted out because even with a shitty PC there's no reason cut scenes should lag a PC.

Forgot to add, this game isn't optimized for dual core. Hopefully they throw that in with a patch.

It's all FPS and I guess some RPG style conversations and item trading. I did a couple of missions, first I had to go kill some rebels, then went off to kill giant boars. On my way back for the reward I wandered off track and before you know it these security guys went Area 51 on my ass and 3-4 of them gunned me down in an instant.

The AI in this game doesn't like it if you point weapons at them so holster that weapon if you want to live

I played it for about 10 mins today, lets just say im glad i didnt buy this one for sure. Looks like a out dated game, and if i remeber correctly, this game was suppose to be out well over a year ago. Im suprisewd with a delay like that it should have looked allot better.

Depending on the version of the game you got you need a patch since one of the releases has problems with the exe related with securom that makes the game crash alot. About the game, well, it's all i expected it to be since i played the MP beta. Dynamic lighting render isn't optimized at all, it's a system killer if you don't have anything better then a top end pc. My advice is use the static lighting render if you have an average pc, and turn up the other options up. Noted that this game uses alot of system ram, so if you have less the 2 gig you will have alot of HDD trashing since the game caches everything before starting a level, map. I played for about an hour yesterday and i really have mixed feelings about it. I already expected the bugs, and this game has alot of them, from graphical gliches to AI bugs, but that's to be expected as i said since this game is a nightmare to beta test and find and kill bugs because of the many variables a game this size has. Gameplay wise it's a mix of Oblivian and Farcry, really different, i like it. Need to play some more before i can tell more about it. So far so good.

It's out today in retail and I'm feeling the Oblivion/Farcry vibe mainman mentioned. Don't expect patches to fix much. Hell, I've gone through 3 PC's during the development of this game there's not much more they could do. One thing I have noticed is the graphics scale quite well for older vid cards.

I dont like it. It's too chaotic for me ( just like MP beta ). I kill a campful of stalkers alone, with double barreled shotgun and makarov, only to find out that there's no stash ANYWHERE near that place and then i confront 5 more stalkers on an open field about 10 metres away from me who kill me. That turned me off

Bugs? Well, nothing big to be mentioned. The PDA system kinda sucks, map sucks especially hard. But nothing else.

mine arrived this morning ( god bless play) have played an hour and so far i dont like it

all the same reasons as listed above and TBH i dont like RPG elements in my FPS games and people seem to kill me for no reason i was just walking from a to b and bang dead not sure why

Plus had to scale back the GFX and disable the dynamic lights and EAX just to get a decent smooth game and i had figured my system would have run this no probs .. ahh well

will give it another go later but so far i am not impressed
