Got my Wiiiiiiiiii

Well I picked up my Wii at a midnight launch in my town along with Trauma Center and Red Steel (Zelda was sold out). Gamestop was checking ID's at the door, only allowing people with reservations. They even had bouncers and the police were on hand because a GS elsewhere in the state was robbed at gunpoint the night before. I'll get it all hooked up and start playing soon

It’s pretty awesome!!!!
I had some friends at EB at the mall, and they let me come in at 11 and wait to get a wii. I didn’t preorder the wii or any games and I was still able to get it, a controller and Zelda easily

I waited at the mall from 10 30 till around 12 15.. It was fun a lot of ppl were talking about a bunch of different topics, and almost everyone had a DS so we played an 8 player match of Mario kart

Anyways the wii is pretty sweet, the controls are way nice and they are configurable too... I just got done updating it and connecting and everything...
So far so good..
If any one has questions, I’m going to be up for a couple of hours

I woke up a few mins ago gonna stand in line with a friend. We both had plans to get one but unfortunatly i dont have the money. Running on about 4 hours sleep both yesterday and today... Coffee time.

So far, so good! The Wii, remote, and nun-chuk themselves feel solid and of very good quality. I spent 3 hours this morning playing Wii Sports and Red Steel. Wii Sports is easy to pick up and play and alot of fun, plus a great way to get familiar with the Remote. Red Steel took some time to get used to how it controls, in fact I can't wait to play it later. I'll play Trauma Center when I get home tonight. I also can't wait to get my component cables from Nintendo.
The Mrs. was skeptical of the Remote until she actually tried it out by creating her Mii and a few games of tennis, so it's growing on her

the wii seems to be, without fail, the easiest video game purchase to ever justify to the mrs.

It's inexpensive....and she'll like it, whether she knwos it yet or not

I don't think U$250 is inexpensive but i agree it's much more accessible than the others next gen consoles.

I got mine from the Nintendo World Store. Got in line around midnight, took a detour to watch the festivities at the Times Square Toys R Us. Reggie was there! It was crazy like new years. That store had 5,000 consoles to give away and they did em all. I was about a block away from the World Store when I got in line and I got my system, a controller, rayman, zelda, and red steel around 8 AM.

Having a blast!

The wireless setup was SO easy. I clicked setup wireless, I clicked use my usb wifi adapter, then I went to my computer to grant access to the wii, and BAM internet on my wii. Who can beat that?

well I've read that it's buggy and unsatisfying, but most horrible ever might be strong.
i'm buying it for our eldest, sounds like exactly the kind of game he'll absolutely love (he hasn't quite got to that age where bugs and stuff annoy him, he just ignores them and enjoys the fact that he can shoot people with cool big guns etc..)

still looking for opinions on games I should buy for the Wii (not sports unfortunately)

Yes and you can even connect a PC USB keyboard to the 360 to key in your WEP key if you dont like using a pad.
