GTA for free!
Yup, Rockstar is now giving away the original GTA (326MB) under "classic games" on their site.
Thanks to Blue's News for turning me on to the info, and thanks to GTA3 Center for bringing it to their attention. The site is pretty hammered right now, but I'm marking it for a later download.
I loved the classic GTA, I wanna see what their new "optimized for newer computers" bit means...
EDITED BITS: Changed "GTA3" to "GTA" where applicable. Sorry if I got anyones hopes up, it was just a brainfart on my behalf.

It's a great game.
The damned server is hammered, I'm gonna go and dig out me old disk. The original was a TON of fun, I hope they added in hardware support for something besides Glide though...

Yeah, personally I am looking for Truform support, Pixel Shaders 2.0 and a little bump-mapping.

Damn, I don't remember that game being 326mb But what the heck, it makes a good addon to the colection. Thx for the heads up
Holy crap...multiplayer
Edit-Looks really good but runs like crap for me. I guess they used only nVidia cards again when testing this

GTA? Is it worth downloading if I already have GTA3. What's different from the original GTA that they "improved"? Any feedback (that's all I seem to want these days-feedback) ???

Dude, you never played GTA like 5 years ago? It's where the idea of GTA2 and GTA3 came from. OMG, I cannot believe you haven't played it....unless you are young.

Not an ISO, a self-installing execuatable. I only got about another hour 'til it's done. Just make sure you check the e-mail address that you submit to them for the download link, don't just keep re-submitting the form like some moron waiting for the download to start. (....like me... )
