CounterStrike 1.5 or 1.6..??

I have only been playing Counterstrike for a little while and i absolutely love the game... many say that picking this game up is brutally frustrating considering that the fan base is huge and not to mention if you don't know what you are doing you WILL die in about ten seconds... but i still really really like this game although i am not all that great at it.

For those of you who are CS fans.. do you like the new additions that they made in 1.6 ??? and what exactly do you think about the whole Steam network idea..??

1.6 isn't out yet. is it? Is it still just in beta form? I went to the website last night and it didn't mention anything BUT the beta of 1.6

It's only out on Steam, it's not official yet but 1.6 seems a lot easier to kill people... dunno...

yes, 1.6 is still in beta and only available on Steam..... but if you are looking for it, i have the steam install.... for those of you that want it... ....hmmm i don't have any webspace and the file is about four to five megs.... so... i could try to send it through AIM or something....

I've been playing CS since beta 5. It's gotten worse and worse with every release. Hopefully they get it right with 1.6

BTW - I'm using 1.5 right now.

Oh, man u really gotta try 1.6. Once I started playing, I never went back to 1.5. It's so much fun I've stayed up the past few nights just playing it.

the famas is awesome... it kills like crazy.... and the tactical shield is pretty cool two... i like 1.6 is really good and i do like it a little better than 1.5... i also noticed that the texture quality has improved...

WTF you talking about? us 56k guys get 200-400 ping. I usually am 200-300.... That's plenty fine to play CS.

Well, if u wanna get 0wned by some lames. My ping is always around 20-70 and I whoop ass.

BTW, anywhere past 300 isn't really playable.

Yah never underestimate a HPW in close combat. Or at far range. If you do it right you suddenly become mr laggy matrix moves.

I'm serious. It throws players off... They expect you to be moving at a certian speed but if you lag you dont heh... Though after being a HPW for a few years after going to broadband I felt like some kind of god...

the servers for 1.6 are pretty good... i usually get a decent ping and i have the most unstable connection ever.... my ping will be under 100 and then i will get a massive lag spike to shoot me over 3000+... no joke, seriously.... i have also noticed that there is a few servers that boot you if your ping is over 99.... pretty demanding is you ask me but at least it provides for a better game for those who are that fortunate....
