This spec is lifted off the Wii page on Gamespot's site:
"GameCube Controller Ports 4 Ports"

The gc controller is great as long as you don't have to use the control pad or z button. It's far more comfortable than the ps2 and xbox controllers, maybe because my hands are not so large.

it's the button layout. With a gc controller you can just put your thumb on the A button and tilt it to hit all the other buttons.
The ps2 and xbox button layouts are governed more by symmetry than by ergonomics.

I find the GC controls (orginals) still to small.
Reguardless, i'm not serprised that it'll work with the GC controllers, since we'll be able to play nes/snes/n64/gc games on the system.

really?
by all accounts I have big hands, and I find the gc controller about perfect
the xbox is all over way too big, and the ps2 is too small (I get hand cramp), the gc seems about right to me (I use after market controllers, not nintendo right enough)

i use the official controllers with my nintendo.
I find the Xbox controllers just about right (could be a bit bigger yet i think).. but i find the controllers button setup way to bloody stupid and misconfigured. Also rough on the thumbs in some cases.
