Why I think PSP > DS
#1. I can play every single Supernintendo/Sega Genesis/Gameboy/Gamboy Color/Gameboy Advanced/Arcade game on it
Saying Chrono Trigger and Zelda a Link to the Past would be enough though
#2. Wider screen to watch Red vs Blue on (because I can put season 1 on a 1gb mem card)
#3. Because touch screens are worthless. Really even if you cannot see it and have screen protectors it is slowly caving in and wearing away.
#4. Because two screens are not better than one
#5. Because there are actually shooters for the system, and most have online capabilities. Aka Socom has the best online experience I've played for a handheld yet.
#6. I don't like to play with dogs on my handheld system. Hell I don't even like dogs that much.
#7. I can put what ever songs I feel like on there with ease.
#8. And lastly because its an overall more powerful system than the DS (Graphically and practically every other way possible).
So there u go, if I were to buy a handheld again, it would definately not be the DS.
Tell me wut u think? Am I right? Yes? No?

hmm, with the umd format falling into oblivion, and the somewhat lackluster amount of games for it, and the notorious dead pixel issue, i'd probably go with neither. Sure they'd be cool, but it's not something i need.
Hell, i don't even like consoles now, especially fps. They just seem to clunky to me. I hope ps3 will be good, but damn the pricetag is steep

Just to add my $0.02
The PSP is the better system overall, but when talking about consoles you have to consider all of the aspects, and that includes games.
Unfortunately for Sony, the PSP has far too few AAA games. Things are improving with Tekken, Loco Roco and a few other great games out on the PSP, but except perhaps for Loco Roco none of them are classics, like many of the games the DS has.

Meh I find Wipeout Pure, the new Tomb Raider and all these other games (GTA and all) AAA class games... You know, not EVERYONE has played em on PS2 first.

I'd say AAA games are games in the calibre of HL2, Mario, Lumines, GTA and such. Sure, Wipeout Pure as well. But I wouldn't consider Tomb Rider an AAA title, at least not on the PSP.

Almost forgot about wipeout. Also I know people hated it but MGS Ac!d was an awsome game in my opinion. I love how challanging it was.
Truthfully Sandok I searched back to July for a PSP vs DS thread so I didn't have to make a new one but I could find any, only threads that started as something different then for some reason trailed off to a PSP vs DS war. Also I was not sure if I should put this in the warzone. I myself have never been a big tomb raider fan.
I will always be a console FPS junky because for some reason I am really good at it and I do believe consoles had them first. It probably goes back to the days of N64 with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark.
Edit: Most of the "classic" DS games are just remakes of old N64 ones. I can play every SNES game on a psp so I guess thats enough Classics for me

#1 Both systems have emulation potential if you're into playing games illegally
#2 Fact (but the dvd is cheaper than a 1gb memory stick)
#3 Opinion
#4 Opinion
#5 Metroid Prime Hunters is both FPS and online. And with voice chat.
#6 Opinion
#7 Fact
#8 Opinion
I perceive this as an attempt to start a flamewar with either me or the black cat, given its post proximity to that wii thread in the news (and I've noticed you like to push buttons). So let's not even argue over your opinions. I'd say lets argue over the facts, but there's no point, and you didn't name very many.

lol no, I just really wanted to know your opinion on what I stated.
The emulation and homebrew community has far more support then the DS because when you work around games for handhelds it is a power hog and is usually choppy. PSP emulation is not only to the point where you can play any SNES game without lag, but you can also play it via Ad-hoc mode with a friend! Also an N64 emulator is up and running for PSP.
the gb stick is multi purpose and will not be used for one movie. You can switch out movies easily and choose what you would like to watch before you go
Metroid Prime Hunters is one, which was delayed for way too long (reason I bought a psp instead). Also I don't know how well the controls work for it and have never played it. Wasn't it delayed for like over a year...
I was not sure if DS could put MP3's on there. Also I hear a program is in the works to play ur music while you are playing a game.
I know how to push buttons but I rarely do so on purpose. This is not one of those time. As far as the Wii news, it had nothing to do with the DS. Thats why I started this thread, so you could post all you want about the DS/PSP in a designated area.

I agree with you that 3 and 4 and 6 are definately opinions but 8 is a fact... The PSP is the more powerful techincal workstation. It has a higher CPU rate, more virtual RAM and all...

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. Didn't we just have this thread a few weeks ago?

Like comparing any hardware it just depends on what numbers you want to look at. If we were talking about load time numbers, then the PSP certainly isn't going to look good. Same goes for screen brightness, battery life playing games, etc.
That's why I said it's opinion. You can choose whatever stats you want to make one look better and then ignore the rest. What stats you feel are important for a handheld console may differ from mine.

DS is the worst handheld IMO. Two tiny screens and games for kids. PSP lets you watch movies, tv shows and basically anything you download plus some cool PS2 games on a big screen. Splinter cell and GTA on PSP? Hell ya!

I still think the majority of PSP games suck, and I will never watch movies and tv shows on one. I'm still glad I traded mine towards an xbox360.
