Anyone got a cracked DS lite?

I have been following the stories about DS lite's cracking, and after reading the post on hardocp today it looks like nintendo have a serious design flaw with this handheld. Especially as apparently quite a few of the owners are claiming to be babying their units and they are still cracking.

Any users on DH got experiences to report ?

I've had a Japanese Lite since April with no problems, and I got an American Lite for the Mrs in June and hers is fine too.

Reports of the cracked hinge has kept me from bothering with the lite. I've had the old-style DS since launch and it still works fine. I can wait for Nintendo to either fix the issues or make yet another revision.

I'd really like to get a black one without importing.

IGN has a write-up on the defects too.....they also list other defects/problems.

I think the hinged crack is from opening your system too far. You're supposed to stop with an 80 degree angle or something but I've noticed some people just lay theirs flat out 90 degrees.

I have a stuck pixel on my DS lite but none of the other issues.

I agree with yay, i've seen the same thing happening, people are attempting to force them beyond the designed capabilities and then cracking them. So far the one i've had appears to work great, and i'm rough with the sucker.

We are in harvest now (reason i've been gone alot lately again) and that's most likely the roughest shit you can put anything through.

No cracks here.
