Anyone Had This Problem With SH3 ???

I bought Silent Hunter 3 when it first came out, but put it up on my game shelf and kinda forgot about it for awhile. I found it again a couple of weeks ago again and decided to load it up and see what it looked like. Well I got hooked on it real quick. I've just recently upgraded my computer with the Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe and two HIS X1900 series video cards running in a Crossfire setup. Well ever since I started playing SH3, there is a terrible lag when using Time Compression. The higher the time compression the worse the lag becomes. The screen freezes momentarily and the mouse pointer starts jumping all over the screen when I move it. I'm looking for other guys who have played SH3 who have had similiar problems. If you have had similiar problems like I've described, were you able to find a cure for this? This lag makes the game almost unplayable sometimes.

If you have an X2 CPU, try setting the CPU affinity of the game executable to run only on one CPU. There's some kind of issue where games are using ACPI or clock-tick counters on multi-core CPUs and get confused, which has affected other things as well.

System Specs

I had the same problem when the game was released, the game would freeze and sometimes crash.
I put it down to sound card issue as when i turned down the sound settings, the game ran a lot better.
The best advice i can give is to try the SH3 forums at ubi.com, as i remember, a lot of people had the same problem, theres also a link to download the latest patch 1.4b,
