exclamation Pacific Storm "The Ultimate Pacific Naval War Game"

Hello all. I though some of you may be interested in this game so I decided to post some info for ya's

The title for the post was actually what IGN had to say about the game here is the full quote:

Quote:
The largest US-based video games portal—IGN.com—has nominated Pacific Storm by Lesta Studio on Best Strategy Game award as ultimate Pacific naval war game. The game was presented along with Company of Heroes (Relic/THQ); Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II (EA); Medieval 2: Total War (Creative Assembly/Sega).

Having played the demo myself and being a long time strategy etc gamer I can honestly say it's a great game and the best WW2 Pacific War Game I have played. But don't take my word for it. You can go here and find out info for yourself. Pacific Storm

Here are some user made videos of the in demo action:

PS-Fire

Official Video E3 Trailers/demo etc

Pacific Storm:Allies Expansion

Any way all, check it it out, it's well worth looking into !

Game Description:

[color=SeaGreen]On December 7, 1941, a major part of the U.S. Pacific navy stationed at Pearl Harbor was assaulted by Japanese planes. Japanese fighters were destroying American aircraft on land and in the air, without giving them a chance for a counterattack.
The furious battle of Pearl Harbor became the first in the sequence of gory sea combats.
Now you can take part in all major Pacific battles of the World War II in the Pacific Storm game that is a mixture of RTS, war-game and simulator. All major and important sea battles of World War II, which took place in the Pacific Ocean, are included and you can play either for the USA or Japan.
Mine the resources (money, iron and nickel ore, bauxites and oil), train various units and retaliate!

Is it a strategy or simulation? Those first person cockpit screenies and gun view are quite good.

I'm gonna download the demo to find out myself.

Hi ya. It's a realtime tactical/strategy/simulation hybrid. Essentually the first game of it's kind which is why everyone is loving it so far.The add on will add alot to the game as well such as the main battery usage/views (damn sweet), upgraded engine and models/graphics, britian. germany and russia are playable and will be added to the game, of course a bunch of new ships and planes, several new game enhancements (of course I'm missing alot because the add on list is huge). The game is situated on the entire Pacific Theater and the maps for the tactical level/s are huge so there is lots of flexability to conduct the engagements the way you want to.You can have 50 ships and 100 planes in a single battle or more I believe. Then there is the strategic level with the ability to research and use technology/ies and refit ships to use those technologies or simply make your own model versions for use in the game via the in game ship/plane editor. If ya's have any other questions feel free to post I'll do my best to help ya's out. There is alot to this game as far as what it has to offer so I'm just hitting the tip of the iceberg as far as explaining it. Hopefully I am doing the title some justice

It's not a simulation Sandok. It's a strategic/tactical game, with the possibility of arcade simulation.

rofl

It's not a true flight simulation but it does simulate aircraft and you can fly them thus, it is in the end, a simulation most compared to bf serries in flight. The game is primarily a strategic/tactical game with the flight sim aspect put in as a extra. In the add on you will be able to man the main guns of the ships which is another added bonus plus all the other stuff they are putting into it like fixes to the interface etc, etc, etc. You guys can read all about it on the official site/s.

Oh it is check out the mods for the demo in the official forum as well http://www.pacificstorm.net/forum/index.php?c=1 . The game will also have modding tools released for it and already is developing a strong modding community. You don't just take part in all major Battles, in open strategic mode you can start from 1940 on either side and have the entire Pacific as your stomping ground vs the enemy. Setup and build up bases or establish new ones, get resources, research technologies, redesign ships and planes around those technologies, build up your forces and go forth conducting operations and battles as you see fit ! Remake history to your own liking ! . The Japanese can also win WW2 ! Each side has their own unique technology trees to research.

Enjoy the demo Markius. Any questions just post or visit the forum in the link I posted.
