Pissed Aarrgghh &%$£@* Quake4

Hi Guys.

For the past couple of days I`ve been trying to play Q4, but the soddin thing keeps wanting to connect to the net when it gets to the "Initialising Menus" on start up.
The Network Connections window keeps appearing, which then hangs the machine and the only way out is the 3 finger salute (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and then to disable it in processes, which then corrupts all the colours on my desktop, needing a reboot. I am then told by my BIOS "Overclocking failed. Press F1 to enter set-up. Press F2 to reset BIOS to defaults"

Firstly, my machine ISN`T overclocked. Secondly I`m sure it`s this attempting to make a connection that`s trashing the thing in the first place, so how do I stop it from trying to connect to the net. It`s even blocked by Zonealarm.

Any ideas?
Thanks
