Crysis story... LOL!!!
Seems the guys from Cryteck aren't good at stories at all... Read this!
Earth, 2019: A colossal asteroid crashes down to Earth. The North Korean Government quickly seals off the island chain, claiming the mysteries of the asteroid for themselves. The United States responds by dispatching an elite team of Delta Force Operators to recon the situation and report back to the Pentagon. Amid rising tensions between the US and North Koreans, the asteroid suddenly bursts open, revealing a massive, 2km high alien ship. The ship generates an immense force sphere, freezing a vast portion of the island and drastically altering the global weather system. The invasion of Earth has begun.
Hahahaha

It's a game for God's sake! As if that many games has better storys anyway, it's all about the experience when you play it ....

That is pretty campy, doubt it will matter much when the game comes out. Hell, the original far cry story line sucked ass (evil scientists, genetic mutants, oh my!), but it's still one of the best. It would be nice to have it with a full package though.

Well I agree Farcry had a lame story and it ruled but it's always cool to have a NIFTY story and amazing graphics plus gameplay (HL2 anyone? )
Anyways, Drakon, I searched for the original source but can't find it... I copied that from this place:
http://pc.boomtown.net/en_uk/article...w.php?id=10966
They got pics too so it seems legit...

Heh, Crytek is from Germany, what did you expect? A creative breath taking story? No way! But on the other hand, they are kick ass engineers, so technical side will be a work of art (or at least I hope so).

And this is leaps and bounds better than the Farcry's story? Who cares as long as it looks good and plays well.

I can't stand poor storylines, i think it plays a biggere part if the game is worth the money.
It is funny how their parent company, Ubisoft, has games with great stories: GRAM,etc.

Well it has nothing to do with the company but with the dev.... Farcry was under Ubisoft and the story was... Pitiful?

The crysis team is not good at a lot of things other than graphics and gameplay.

Yeah I heard Crysis was going to better and that they learned their lesson from FarCry; don't get rid of the incredible open 1st half for annoying linear mutant levels.

Just watched the video through another site and guess what it said at the end.... EA. Don't be disappointed if it is rated T, because I'm sure EA is goin to try and force it.
While I love how beautiful the game looks, I'll be debating wether or not I should put down my money for it. No story, horrible death animations with cartoony blood, and published by EA. Come to think of it I disliked Farcry mainly because the story seemed like it came out of a 13 yr olds action novel or a really bad movie.
perhaps that is why I preffered F.E.A.R. over it for a while, because I'm starting to like the story of a game rather than the gameplay.
I'll probably pick this up anyway, though I may say I won't. It looks very beautiful and I will probably play through it once then never touch it until I wish to see the graphics again

EA has some killer titles coming...and has re-structured their studios to focus more gameplay these days, actually....Crysis and Spore are particularly interesting

i think that the storyline is what keeps one playing. some game with a real good storyline and not so good graphic will keep one infornt of ones pc longer thet just graphics. for example: DOOM3 had very good graphics but the gameplay and story sucked @$$. and something like POP 1+2 or maybe even warcraft 3. the storyline of warcraft 3 was th only thing that made me want to play more of it. im not a much of a liker to stragety games.
so do you guys see what i mean. the story plays a big role.....

If you guys want stories, go buy books... Games are for fun and no real story is required.

lol, and u review the games? thats scary : (.
Games are like books you can play. Ask most people who create the games, build the stories (except the crysis team). I look for a story in everything, if you can't learn something from it, why the hell are you wasting your time? Take every story out of the greatest games of all time, and what do you get?
