Got "Special" mail today.
I'm in a pretty good mood tonight. Got home from work and there was a big manilla shipping envelope in the mailbox. Upon looking at the return address, I quickly saw that it was from a little game company from Madison, Wisconsin that you may have heard of, Raven Software. Inside the said envelope was a glittering jewel of coding known as Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, but this is not just a game cd in a box. Oh, no. This copy has slighty elevated status, for it is signed by 19 members of The FLOCK!

I remember how I felt when I got a surprise 'special' package a year and a half ago. I received a copy of Deep Space Nine - The Fallen with the autographs of all the members of The Collective inside the flap on the box.

I recieved some special mail... upon looking at the return address... I realized this was no ordianry package! This contained my tax return check from the IRS!
I ripped it open to stare at the beauty of a 929.48 check from the federal government.... I thought about framing it ... But then ... REALITY came crashing down on me (read: the wife) YEAH! I get to go pay off bills (and buy a new processor for second rig... but she doesn't know that.)
Congrats on the signed copy of Jedi 2 Outcast!

Posting stuff you don't want your wife to know isn't very good to post on a public forum ... especially one where she is a mod...

I have it easy...my wife never reads the boards. The technical stuff bores her to tears, she gets enough of that from me talking.

Get a job in the game industry, like becoming a game or hardware reviewer or beta tester, and if that is not fesible for you. How about simply contacting someone on the development team and ASK if you can get a copy signed by them?
P.S. I was beta tester for years for every type of software, from games to accouting and I still do it, to help out those developers that need feedback from their user base.
