Did I ever mention I HATE Cats

So here I am finishing up my new rig
XP 2600
2 sticks Corsair xms 2700
Asus A7N8X Deluxe
550w Antec TruePower
ATI 9700 Pro
Cheftec Blue Aluminum tower w/ window
2 antec tri-color fans
Carefully tidying up the wires putting them in black plastic wire wrap ..double checking connections..A bit paranoid after Mr Kinetics unfortunate accident. Satisfied all was well I took a smoke break pondering if I should attempt hooking up the front usb ports. Mobo manual shows 12v vs 5v on the case pins

Afterwards I decide to worry about that later so I carry the new rig upstairs and hook'er up, thinking I'll just post it tonite and pop in memtest. To my amazement all the fans start freaking out rapidly starting stopping ..Quick as I can I hit the power switch to no avail reach around and kill the power at the supply. Disconnecting I look at the connections all seems well but my finger is slightly damp

Upon closer inspection there is moisture over certain parts of the mobo ,hd and vid card ..Then the unmistakeable oder hits me ..The DAMN CAT urinated all over my new Comp whilst I smoked

Today after blotting & using a blowdryer ..The Mob,CPU&mem are A Ok ...my pride and joy 9700 is TOAST

Did I mention I hate Cats

UnBelieveable... Against all hope I took an eraser to the entire backside of the vid card..AND IT'S ALIVE.....I'm so happy I've decided to let the cat live as well

Hehe no Ati bashing from me Zardon..I happen to think ATI's come along way with there drivers since the 8500

I quit smoking and train my cats to piss in the litter box. If one of my cat's pissed on anything (especially my PC) without some medical reason it would soon be homeless.

Amen to that! I've been trying to get that particular monkey off me back for a bit over 5 years now...and I still keep slipping up and smoking when I stress out.

Nope, after just coming in from having a cigarette outside I have to say I'm a full-blown hypocrite rather than a reformed campaigner. I'm still TRYING to quit, it really ain't easy.

Ohio just raised the taxes on cigarettes and alcohol. While I don't drink (just sorta lost my taste for it) I smoke like a fiend. Especially when sitting in front of the PC. I want to quit smoking myself, if for no other reason than to have some extra cash in my pocket. I think I'd have to be put on a desert island somewhere before I'd be able to do it though. I'm a somewhat high-strung person, I scare people as it is. Just imagine what it would be like while in the middle of nicotine deprivation. ROOOOAAR!!!!

So, the cat yanged on yer PC? He would be a "pound kitty" if ours did that. Luckily, our cat actually loves us for some reason.

I have two cats (I used to hate cats too) -somehow my girlfriend convinced me to let her have ANOTHER one. But they are the coolest cats- don't do anything wrong -ever. Must be because when they were little I had the dreaded water bottle- Basically the long hand of the law in the form of a 25 foot stream of water anywhere within eye-sight..... that the cats learned much respect for it. Now they are about 1 and 2 years old and I lost the water bottle, but if I snap my fingers they know I mean business. Amazing how smart they are.

Well it's the wifes cat ..She had her before we got married and it just plain hates me.
Someday I'll try and give up smoking..no hurry only been smoking me pipe for 26 years

Spoke too soon about the card..works ok until it heats up the the graphics are all broke up..looks like a console game half inserted

Guess I'll have to buy a Ti 4200 or somthing to tide m over ..Doubt I can rma it

Haven't seen any 9500's for sale yet arouund here
