Back to school and time for Introduction to Computers
Maybe this belongs in the FlameZone....but who knows.......
So I go to school today and go to one of my classes Introduction to Computer (required for my major). I coulda taken the proficiency test but I didn't cuz I wanted to see how the class is. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! I hate those classes where you go in there and you understand EVERYTHING the teacher says. I hate it when there is another kid in the class who does also. And he finds it fun to make the both of us look like complete nerds. The teacher asks questions: "Who here has built their own computer?" Me and him raise our hands amongst like three other people. "Who here has installed ram?" Me and him and some others. "Who here knows work Unix is?" We raise, just us. So now everyone knows that we are computer prolific. But what does this kid decide to do? Ramble on about Windows.net (server program)....Ramble on about his dvd-ram and how he thinks he shoulda bought the Sony instead. Rambles on about his PC3200 DDR RAM. Interrupts and talks about video cards do this and that. Rambles on about his 2 100GB hard drives. Mind you, this was all interruptions in the class. I hate people that do this. He made me and him look like dorks cuz we were the computer prolific people while everyone is behind us. He wouldn't shut up with interrupting the teacher. I wanted to smack the kid. This kid had to add his two cents to EVERYTHING that the teacher said. Half the class was him talking. So to my little annoying friend in Introduction to Computers, hear this. (Although you are not a forum member here I believe.) It is cool to have pride. But learn when to use it AND WHEN NOT TO. In the middle of a lecture is wrong. No need to bog down the class and waste time. No need to make normal kids suffer under your excited computer driven life..... Sorry, just needed to vent a little. But nonetheless, I had to talk about this cuz I HATE when people interrupt lectures all the time. |

i know a kid like that too..... except worse.... cuz he automatically assumes that everyone else around him is computer illiterate...
 ..... he thought this way of me too and it pissed me off  ..... and then we were assigned to be partners in our computer science project (last year) and became friends  .... MORAL OF STORY: stop being pissed about a person based on what he/she says/does in public until you speak with him/her as a friend (or at least try to).  |

Oh yes. He's one of those kids.... He tripped up and said that Windows.net software is in the beta stage. I was like "NO...it's not. It's official." I had to diss him at some point. So I burned him.
