Longhorn
i know this doesn't really have anything to do in this section... but please keep it here.
Now, i have seen like 4-5 threads on this section about how longhorn has leaked, and places to get it. Number one the mods already say no warez so you may as well stop... but either way, all we needed was ONE thread to let us know! Incase some of you know NOTHING about servers... all you are doing by making more that one thread on the same topic is WASTING server bandwidth and web space. so please... stop repeating threads. it gets REEEEEEEEAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYY annoying.

Hmmmm
How is it warez? aren't you just adding to it by creating yet another thread! where are the other threads you speak of...if i was aware of any other threads regarding longhorn I wouldn't have started the one above
Ok just seen the post underneath must have been wrecked, last night!
Still would like to know how this kind of leak of the longhorn alpha is different from the leak of say xp's service pack 1 which driverheaven was only to happy to particpate in, I wasn't posting links was just asking ppls what they think of it!

Think on nothing! I'm not posting warez! & I am asking opinons on software, for which I have used a product key which has been sent to me from microsft, otherwise I would not be able to activate the dam thing with out using reset 5!
Could a moderator move this to flame zone as I have a feeling this is going to get nasty!
Check your facts stupid! Don't assume anything unless you have the facts, which don't seem to be doing!
I have done nothing wrong by this forum, & wouldn't, as I like visiting thank you...You seem to be the clueless king of exaggeration, where do you get your info...just pluck it out of the air! go away little boy & get your facts straight!
Sorry about spelling and grammar, but my heckles are up...& they go out the window!

well... remember... i just wrote this thread because there were already like 3 threads on longhorn, and i was asking for it to stop. If you got a cd-key from microsoft to use longhorn, then that is great. I hope you enjoy it and you have done nothing wrong. There is no need to move this to the flame warzone as i was not accusing you. but i was asking for people to STOP putting up threads on where to get longhorn and stuff like that. If somebody wants longhorn bad enough they can go find it themselves. Otherwise there are no-good people who don't seem to be able to know just where to look for it. (Bad spelling and grammar forgiven )

May I say something about longhorn? IT IS NOT WORTH IT.
It is still alpha. Windows .NET are nearly final, and are on my 'get' files list as soon as are finalized.
Longhorn is still very far from final. Why to bother?

Probably would have been better for you to post this in other thread but nevermind
Why Longhorn? Why not, its nice to see where concepts & ideas are going in the future..yes its an alpha but its mostly xp pro so it works quite nicely once tweaked! yes its not everyones cup of tea but I like evaluating new releases, along with quite few other people..I'm a tech addict! Also gives me edge when products finally hit the market, when things go tits up for other ppl I can help out as I already have exprience of the product!
I'm currently running .net rc1 on my webserver, it maybe a release candidate but its stable as hell hasn't been down once since install...couldn't say the same for win2k adv server before sp's.....
Now do you understand where I'm coming from?

i think that louie and i have joined sides because well... i just can't wait for longhorn to come out. Thats what i would need... NOT a server operating system. My computer isnt a server... so i would rather go with longhorn. Also, longhorn has more features i would rather have. The dock for instance... is the main reason that i would risk (i'm not saying i will and i am not saying i have... because i havent ...) being fined a LOT of money for illegally downloading it.

I am for stability - if .NET offers it, Standard Server is the way to go.

.Net even in form of RC1 is ultra stable, used pre rc1 build as my main os for a while! stripped it a bit, also managed to get my highest 3dmarks with it, 3606! which ain't bad for GF2mx! but rc1 disabled 3d acceleration...lol using RC1 on my webserver, & never even gives a cause for concern!
As I said to a friend last night, unless your a tech addict, longhorns not worth downloading yet...having said that its got me hooked & i'll pounce on longhorn like a ex-convict who's been inside for 10 years pounces on a cheap hooker, on longhorns next release lol
