America's Army PC game.
I saw this game version 1.9 came out today- I had to think it was a whole new game by the way they were hyping it up. I even sent the link to the news posters so everyine knew about it.
I don't care how many versions they come out with- I am never downloading or installing this game on my hard drive again-- What a waste of nice graphics!!!!! Man, I hate this game, so buggy- still feels like an pre-alpha-alpha -beta (demo) to me-- ARG. Dumn game doesn't even clearly mark your teammates- but it does some of the time, and only some of them- just enough to make sure you don't know who you are shooting- because eveything is so dark. Then, on top of that, the entire game is based around a points system that rewards you for not shooting or killing anyone. You could sit in a damn corner all day long, and come out better than the guy that goes out and kills the entire enemy tean, then shoots one teamate with one bullet. It's fucking stupid. It's controls are like something a 3rd grader would come up with. Stop, press a button to switch weapon from single shot to automatic. Press another button to run. Press another button to run faster, press another button to slow down. Then press another button to crouch, and an entirely different button to go prone. But none of these buttons can be used at the same time, like you could in QUAKE2!! Only one action at a time, No running and shooting, no reloading and walking, no switching from single shot to burst while running. It is about as efficient as the oxy-moronic US post office. Do I really need a different button for every weapon choice and every weapon action?? What happened to the "next weapon" button. What a waste of time. I guess for free it isn't bad- but I wouldn't pay a dollar for it- I don't need the entire keybaord to control a cartoon soldier with 2 fucking guns and a grenade. Bahhh- forget it. Stupid government sponsored POS. They should stick to government cheese- they do that a whole lot better. And what a pitty- because it looks amazing- still a great looking game, It even looks better now--- that's why it's such a shame. What a discrace to the Army.

Yep, I have been consistantly dissapointed with it too. I only play it if I'm bored with the other stuff have.

It should be easy to control, but difficult because of the competition, like a real war. I don't have to think about what button to push when I'm walking and then want to crouch in real life- - the whole thing is moronic... Ahhh- I spent 4 hours trying to justify it tonight- the game in general is better now (lag, impact prediction, graphics)- but not much, and I think the controls got even worse. If it sounds too good to be true-- |

Raven Shield is WAY better than America's Army...
The old, original version was cool...but Raven Shield wipes the floor with any other tactical shooter...nice looking, faster paced than Ghost Recon, awesome AWESOME sounds. Haven't tried the single player, but man...LAN games are AWESOME. AWESOME! |

Bunch of NWO orwellian crap. Lets get all our kids excited about the army and the Hero's in it. So they can go out and die for the cause. Utter brainwashing bilge. I'll never play that ridiculous excuse for propoganda.

AA is a good game and the fact that it's free makes is better. I've never had a problem with bugs and stuff except for the early stages of the game, but I'd say the reason I don't play it much is because it's too slow for me.
