Ever get a call from some dumb ass bitch who is hissing on the phone that somthings wrong with her PC and she uses this to get her frustration out ON YOU!!
Ever felt like laughing at how dumb the customer is but you were at work and you coulnt coz u were afraid of getting fired
Ever get some angry email at work and you cant figure out why they pissed at you
Ever been made to wait on the phone for an order of PC stuff that was supposed to arrive at 8am, Its bloody 4PM now!!!

Re: A TECHIES FRUSTRATION UNLEASHED!! Biatches
Here I am working for some 2cent PC and Tech sales company 4 peanuts. Some guy comes in asking for a CPU.
Knowing this Maafucker means THE TOWER I give him a list of possible options for His Rig.
He isnt happy, I didnt quote the monitor, Keyboard mouse ...
So i put em in,
He isnt happy
He asks me again, No i want a cpu NOT A TOWER
I havent lost my temper yet, but we are scratching the surface
It would have been ok if he didt know what a cpu was and asked
but he didnt he wanted what he wanted and wasnt going to hear anything
from the more than qualified sales and tech guy
30 mins later (During MY bloody luch break)
I'm like fuck this i'm going to Lunch
I wish i turned and said;
Hey you!!, You are an ASSHEAD

Sometimes they just know so well what they want, even when it doesn't actually exist.
I try actively to forget such incidents as soon as the mess goes out the door, but I'm sure that wasn't so easy when all you had was the last part of your lunch to do it. It's easier if the next guy that shows up proves to be a normally manageable customer, or just someone with an intelligent question to ask.

ironically, just as often as some of the customers that come in thinking they know as much or more then the techy working, they are actually DO know as much or more then the techy.
It doesn't bother me that someone thinks they know as much or more... the may be possible..... course they'll remove all doubt upon the moment they open thier mouth.

Re: A TECHIES FRUSTRATION UNLEASHED!! Biatches
I had an aquaintance once.. won't call him friend because he wasn't, even though he thought we were. He and his best buddy was about to put a computer together, of course they knew everthing and it was gonna be so easy. A few hours later they call me and ask why they can't get the darn thing to work so, kind as I am, I go there and have a look.
First of all they completely managed to connect the cables from the psu completely wrong. Don't ask me how since it just shouldn't be possible. Next they had used the floppy cable and put it into the harddrive. Yeah, you heard me. They saw that it didn't quite fit but they still believed that had to be right so they just hammered it in and bent a few pins on the ide bus of the harddrive in the process.
Anyway, I managed to fix what they had messed up only to find out they fried the motherboard with their ingenious solution... so I just said, please don't ever call me again!
After that my brother got the honour of his constant phonecalls...

May father... He's generally a smart guy and he knows a bit about computers too (to be honest, he's helped me a few times), but not nearly as much as he thinks he does. He's a genuine computer wiz to his coworkers, but that's mostly because of how much they suck. Still, that makes him think he knows it all and he's always going to meddle and try to fix things, and he's as difficult as a little child.
For example, the other day my sister asked me (specifically) to come and help her around some photo editing, and he was there. She told him she didn't ask him, but he wouldn't go away. I came into the room and he got offended.
A week ago, the guy who installed cables for cable TV accidentally knocked out the power plug of the network switch (not his fault, it's really loose, I guess that it just fell out at some moment). I wasn't around and later that day when my sister noticed that there was no internet, my dad tried fix the problem by messing with both our home PC's OSes. I have no idea what he tried, but I'm glad I haven't given him an admin account on the PC I'm using (something that slightly upsets him).
Also, while we were using the same computer, at least once every couple of weeks, he'd ask me what did I do to the computer, as it's suddenly become slow. If the PC lost 1% of it's initial speed any time he asked that, it'd be running programs backwards! And if he took a look at his system tray, he could get the idea why things may not be as smooth as they had been on day one.
I wish all computer illiterates were like a neighbor of mine who's asked me for help a couple of times. She'd just say something like: "I don't know how to do this, can you come over and help me?" (she'd say please too, she's extremely polite, but that's beside the point). And sure, I'd go, find everything "clean" (nothing messed up by some knowitall's attempts) and finish the job in minutes. And she's never bothered me about the same thing twice. And we'd always have a nice chat and cookies.
Some members of my family occasionally get angry because I seem to show more good will when other people ask me for help, I think that the reasons are pretty obvious.

Re: A TECHIES FRUSTRATION UNLEASHED!! Biatches
I dunno man, PC techs at store are generally dumb as all hell.
Their solution is restore the HDD.
Thing is, people are always on two different levels with both thinking their level is better than the other. Just because you get paid to work with or on computers does not make you tech savy in any way. Same as the douche who comes in "knowing what the problem is" or at least what the parts are called that are smoking.
Just keep a cool head and its what you get paid for. Otherwise, find a new line of work. I'm just warning, every job usually involves you being someone's bitch.

Sometimes you get real techs in a store, but more often, minimum wage drones with a brand name on their shirt - to see a real tech, you'll be paying for a service.

too true man. If ur like me and have spent sleepless nights trying to fix bugs in a program. Or trying to revert something that was changed in the reg. Looking through all that all night.
Spent hours trying to fix bent pins to save some guy porn.
Then have some technologically challenged dick strut in all big balls and brawn.
Then say something like hey tech guy, I brot my PC here 10 X. yak yak yak
Oh and it wasnt u handling the CRO(customer repair order) It was that lame ass lazy "frnd" of urs.
But coz he's not there , ur gonna get ur ass chewed.
I dont mind if some1 knows more than me, many people here make me seem like a baby. I hate it when someone is either too proud or pissed at life then they wana PISS ON U.
Ure very right i take ur advice. But with a pinch of salt.
But anyway I still say Fuck them.

Re: A TECHIES FRUSTRATION UNLEASHED!! Biatches
Sometimes when I'm at one of the electronic supermarkets I kind of spy and try to listen to what the guys working there are saying to customers when they ask questions about computers and what they need.
There are times when I can feel the steam raise inside me because I hear how they just plainly lie about stuff just to sell something that the customer really doesn't need or want. I guess that's why I'd never get a job in one of those places, I would do my best to find the best for their needs. I know they have orders to sell as much as they can and I'm fine with that, just don't lie to people. An unhappy customer never comes back.. so in the long run I think it's a bad policy.

Thats so funny some1 I know does that, 100% sales person, 100% fibber . Call me a douche but I tell people like it is. If something is crap then its crap. I wear my heart on my sleeve when doing business.
I go 100% at work especially when there are people involved. I really do try to make them happy.
Such thinking is in short supply sadly enough

QFT lmao, i went into PC World once asking for a replacement Driver CD for my printer, and the guy comes out with a motherboard driver disk. I told him i needed a printer disk not a mobo disk, and he says i'll have to book the computer in to get it repaired.
this was before i realised the epson site is a lot faster than using a CD

and as he say's, for me to be actually solving your problem i need to have some sort of incentive, either your problem should be "intriguing" or something,, or how you talk to me {if your a Chick }..
but honestly some guys can just be dicks, a customer called us up and asked for a "USB Mouse PAD" now there is a lot of stupidity i can take having crazy siblings, but honestly, when i try to clarify as to what he exactly wants, he starts shouting on the phone, saying how the company hire's "useless people", that bastard further went on to say that i didn't know the "fuck" {he actually said that} that i was talking about, and
that i was wasting his "valuable time", honestly

Re: A TECHIES FRUSTRATION UNLEASHED!! Biatches
My gf works for the cable company trouble shooting the internet connections and general cable connections to the house. One day she got a phone call from a guy that was trying to hook up a router and insisted that "he works with pc's all day long". Well after having him plug all the pc's into it, rebooting everything (modem, router included) and finally getting everything back up in short time she asked him what exactly he did with pc's....
This is the best part...
he worked in a ware house so his day to day "working with PC's" was unpacking them...
She told me this and I was crying I was laughing so hard.

Ok those things are annoying as hell the base led is always this color that has this tendency to shine into your BRAIN........ uou just cant get used to the no matter how hard you try, i mean sure it looked cool in the store but as soon as U plug the dam thing in it begins to annoy the shit out of you.
Now on to other matters........
I had a run in with this really frustrating customer, He wanted more ram on his rig BUT..... and get this He does NOT want to replace the old ram modules........ WTF. He has tho ordasidy to point at his Sound card when i opened his tower and say "the last time i took it in for repairs for the scratchy sound it came back with that and now i cant even get sound"
This dood insists he is a computer Tech and he cant even tell the difference between onboard sound and a PCI sound card WTF and which idiot trained this idiot...... its like the blind leading the blind......
Extreamly frustrating..................................
