While I can't comment on Crossfire in Vista (until after this weekend when I install it), I can comment on Crossfire in XP. And while I've never gotten 2x the performance I have usually gotten 1.5-1.8x. For instance (and I hate to use this an example), in 3DMark 06 one card I get about 5600 marks, while in Crossfire I get about 8800.
As for that kind of performance in BioShock.. I don't seen anywhere on the site that lists that kind of performance in BioShock.

I have Crossfire (1) 1900 XT Master and (1) x1900xtx both 512 MB running 1 gig together and when Bioshock doesn't crash at the load screen and I actually play, my screens run smooth as butter.
Then I applied the "Vista Hotfix" and the game doesn't work at all. I have to reinstall off Steam tonight.

That'll do for me sir! I've been converted! I'm gonna go get me a X1900XTX off ebay to go with my CF master card.

Well I think Crossfire will get alot better once one of the cards are not bottlenecked. From what Chaos tells me it will be in a month or so until the new Intel chipsets come out allowing both to run at 16x on the pcie bus.

All in Wonder don't have a problem in vista unless you want to use the "all in wonder" portion of the cards lol

Lol.... indeed old buzzard... such amazing hardware..... poor software
I'd still like to see a HD2900 AIW with HD Component and HDMI "IN" ports.

Crossfire will probably be best when AMD's platform uses HT3 and whatnot.
Determining factor so far is that crossfire and SLI performance is not hardware based, but lies in the drivers and software in how well it performs. But having full 16x link width on the PCIE will be a step forward in achieving a true crossfire/sli to produce double what one card can by adding another.
It was stated on XtremeSystems.org by Freecableguy (FCG as hes referred to) that in essence SLI and Crossfire performance has nothing to do with the hardware, as PCIE is only an interface, just like any other interface on the board, and it only acts as a median to get information where it needs to go and power and whatnot... not that it had anything to do with the performance (sure a 4x or 1x link width will hurt performance) but the actual performance lies in the software and drivers, as well as BIOS can have alot to do with individual performance.
