Opera back gesture twice

This is a bug that was present a long time ago with the dh forums (back with like opera 7.5). I have to do my back mouse gesture twice to go back a page. This just started today. The first back gesture goes to the same page I was already on and the second one actually goes back. I know you use opera also zardon, so maybe you're experiencing the same thing.

The first back gesture is unloading an ad at the bottom of the page, while typing this message it is a "carve your own pumpkin!" ad.

hmm weird...well, I've been using opera since the first beta of 7.6, and I think I remember seeing this back then...anyway, I have not had the same issue since version 8+. And all your gesture settings are defaults still in preferences right?

The "bug" was caused by a specific issue with opera and the way it was handling ads within specific frames. Opera fixed this with V8 and it has not been present since. i have not seen the issue you mention however it is possible a specific ad is causing a problem but as our IP ranges are different the chances of us seeing the same ad are low.

Just ride it out for a while as ads only have short running periods.

You'd need a free hand for eating and other non-computer things though.

Just an update, I still have the issue. It's definitely the first ad at the bottom of the page, the big one under the timezone. It's not related to any specific ad, the entire class of ads that appears in that ad space will do this.

Opera Version information
Version 8.5
Build 7700
Platform Win32
System Windows XP

Java Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.5
XHTML+Voice IBM Multimodal Runtime Environment, Version: 4.1.3, Build: 20050324.01.1

Fine here, cant reproduce it, on 5 different machines, 3 with different 8.x builds of opera. Im always surfing with opera, if I noticed any issues they would be looked into already.

I'm home for the weekend, on my home PC (which is different than my school PC). I'm not having the back problem (perhaps the ad cycled like zardon said). I'll upgrade this one to 8.5 now and see if it sticks, and I'll be back at school tomorrow to test there.

Opera Version information
Version 8.01
Build 7642
Platform Win32
System Windows XP

Java Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.4
XHTML+Voice Plug-in not loaded

edit: no problems here at home with 8.5
