Can't delete private message...
That sums it up-- the thing keeps coming back- and when I delete it, it throws up a message that it is an "invalid message" and to contact webmaster.. Very strange.
edit--
Well, I finally deleted it- but I couldn't delete it while reading it ( inside the view where you read the message), I had to delete it from the list view- then it was instantly replaced with another PM I got from someone else. Another weird thing is that the original message I was trying to delete, I had already deleted the last time I was logged in... Hmm, must have been a bug.

if you want we can try and clear your messages, is it just one message in your inbox? or sent ?

I just edited my message-- NO! please don't clear me messages, lol- thank you..
I think it's all cleared up.. I think.. When I just returned to this message I had to refresh to see your message and the edit I made to my message though... Another strange thing.. hmm..
Edit
Well, when I just made this reply- I saw my yellow PM indicator on, then when I came back after writing this message, it was off again.. Very weird.. I dunno.

depending on what you might have done... i've done this a few times... you can get the new message indicator to show up even though you don't have a single message.... i did this by getting a new message.. or sending myself one.. deleting it... then hit back.... going into the forums.. and it would pop up...and i wouldn't be able to delete it from within the message.... had to do it outside.. it really messes up when it does... but i haven't been able to recreate the problem to much.... tried it about 4 times ...1 of the 4 times is messed up..

Well I did boot up from the boot-floppy I made from this thread:
Oh no... what have I done?
My connection seems very slow as well. I wonder if it has anything to do with that?
O well, I'm going to clear cookies and reboot normally and see if it makes a difference..

Nope, just my connection. I installed Sygate Firewall on this HD until I get my main one going again too- so I don't think it's a virus, I haven't even opened any emails on this OS install.
Plus I just ran Adaware. I don' t know- I'm gonna reboot normally and see if anything changes.

Well I booted normally and everyhting is back to normal- speed is right up to where it was

Very wierd, I don't understand why booting from a floppy into XP would cause any problems. Oh well. Maybe that didn't have anything to do with it after all, hard to say.

WTF!?!?! Now the same message is back in there again! LOL- this is crazy.. It wasn't there all night, I come back to DH and the same message is there AGAIN.. Very stange.
It was delivered at 2:03PM today- I have deleted it at least 12 times. I don't want any of my other PM messages deleted, but this is carazy. It's from Mazuko- It was a message I wanted, but now it won't go away. I don't understand.
It's like the server keeps sending it to me- but when I try to delete it, it says "invalid message, contact webmaster"
It must be a bug of some kind.
I also cannot make it so none of my sent messages automatically go into my "sent messages" box, even though I selected that option in my settings to not put a copy in my sent items...
I dunno- seems weird..
Maybe it's because I haven't been checking my emails (because of my HD problems)- and all my email notifications are being bounced back? I get my emails through my ISP's POP server which is full, so maybe thats why? It seems like that would be a good explination, but it still doesn't seem like that should happen.. The whole reason I'm trying to save all my info on my original HD is so I don't loose all those messages, so if I poll that pop server, none of them eill be on the server when I get my Outlook express going again on the correct HD.
I will disable getting email notifications for PM's temporarily and see if that helps. If it does, I think I may inadvertently found a forum bug. (or maybe it was a known issue?)

I'm just going to turn off PM's all together- I cannot delete any PM's I get- 2 more I have gotten and when I delete them, they show as deleted.
Then I hit refresh, and they are back- as simple as that. Not deleting, and if I try to delete them from within the page where you read them, and not in the list- it goves an error message. I dunno-

I forgot to come back here and reply- I know what happened-
It was stupid IE6, for some reason on that XP install someone (I) had the internet option "check for new pages" set to never.. I have no idea how it got set like that. Try it out and try to post a few posts, it's great fun. Or to be really cruel, go into someone else's PC and set that setting to never- It will make them think the web page they are on is broken...
