Proposed Rule
I know that Zardon and the administration is all for fewer rules, but I have a suggestion.
Could we please set some limit as to how large posted pictures are? Or can we at least have some sort of gentleman's agreement on this? It's so frustrating when people post some 1000x1000 picture in a thread. It screws up the alingment of the page, and loads slowly on dial-up. According to one the polls conducted here, 20% of use either use 56K or ISDN. And most of us run at 1024x768.
I don't care if it's not a hard, enforced rule -- I just wish that kind of picture posting was discouraged.

well I had kind of hoped that people would have the sense to know this themselves. I dont really want rules for everything, thats kind of lame. but i understand your point as I have seen several people do this.
not sure I want to make a rule for it though. lets hope people read this and realise how annoying it can be.

Generally until now I think that people have been good at keeping the big pictures in apropriate threads. I mean, if you enter a babe thread you better be prepared for some pictures. Besides, if u use a browser like Opera you can just turn of images with a quick "ctrl + f12" hit

I respect that. I really do like the way you rule this place, Zardon, and that isn't lip service. It's refreshing to see a administrator that isn't power hungry and participates heavily in his own forum.
640x480 ought to be enough, as they say, for anybody. Anyone that posts anything larger obviously is a communist and a scoundrel, and will be stoned on the spot!

Of course, if somebody posts like a 2048x1536 pic or something, we'll get rid of it.

As a general rule, you won't see this fox posting anything above 640x480

That or a MOBO thread... either way... you gotta love them pics
But seriously, i really don't care what the pic size is... it's better to have them linked outside of the post when they are too large. (1024x768 really is TOO large)
eh :/

i've posted a few pics from time to time and have visited and contributed to bbs' for quite awhile...it should be a courtesy to resize them to around 640x480.

Nah, they're far more effective when they kick the old scroll bars in.
