Profile additional information (OS)

I would like to suggest a change to the profile additional information.
  • I would like the choice to choose Vista x86 or Vista x64.
  • It would also be nice if you could enter some text when you choose other. It would display your text of choice instead of displaying 'other'.
I have three OS installed (triple-boot). I usually only use one but I use the others to do some testing in different operating systems. I can only specify one in my profile. Maybe a second and third OS could be added to the profile.

by saying x86 you mean 32bit, right? Because as far as I know both 32 and 64 are x86.

X86 is 32 bit,
X64 is 64 bit.

the terms is understandable.... "Vista x86" is Vista, x86-based or 32-bit versions.

the x64 is for 64 bit afaik. x64 is not a different thing than x86, it is the same thing as a 32bit x86, only that it is a 64bit x86 that for some reason it is called x64, which just causes confusion for no good reason.
So x86 contains both 32bit and 64bit aka x64. So saying x86 may mean either of the two. In fact it probably contains also 16bit and 8bit.
All the above as far as I know.

as far as Microsoft still using the the terms likes "Windows Vista, x86-based versions", "Download the update for Windows Vista x86-based versions",
i think that is understandable.

"Windows, Vista x86" site:support.microsoft.com - Google Search

=================

or, if anyone want to enter the full Vista names and the edition names of the Vista you use, then you can now do that in the your profile.
or craig may want to make those changes again? i don't know.

Windows Vista, 64-bit versions...
• Windows Vista Enterprise 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition
• Windows Vista Business 64-bit Edition

Windows Vista, 32-bit versions...
• Windows Vista Enterprise
• Windows Vista Home Basic
• Windows Vista Home Premium
• Windows Vista Ultimate
• Windows Vista Business
• Windows Vista Starter
