I really like my Mac....So simple.....Not to say I'm anywheres ready to trade my PC's in for it.I dont think that will ever happen. But they surely have there place. From what little I know about GFX,publishing & the like, the Mac is king over the PC.

The software side of things on the Mac is actually not as advanced as the PC anymore. For a while, Macromedia and Adobe and Corel opted to focus on Windows products, and the Mac side still has not caught up, it seems.

Open Office / Neo Office are ok, and Parallels is great for virtual machines, but the platform is not as robust as it was. Microsoft Office 2004 is still not a Universal Binary yet. Photoshop Elements is behind the curve on the Mac too.

As far as productivity goes, Windows is just where it's at. Unless Jobs will release OS X for other hardware, I don't see it getting much helpful momentum.

many developers insist on sticking with macs though as theres still a myth that they are far superior. I will say that if you get a good machine with the right mouse and keyboard, its a bit more comfortable working on photoshop in osx...and as far as musicians are concerned macs are still pretty decent (albiet insanely expensive on the software side)

but this is the feedback forum so i should stay on topic.

As a mac user I too would like something like this (especially to trade really stellar apps. OSX has some hidden gems that people don't know about) but I don't see it happening.

Still...my vote is for a mac forum.

I don't see it as being viable. Mac stuff just isn't very popular out there. Don't see people here discussing it much. Heck, if anything, I think there are too many categories already.

Well, while I have you guys here I wanna ask a question about iTunes.I have 2 iPods,1-30GiG and 1-1 GiG.Is it ok to run them both on 1 machine? In other words will my MacBook see that the 30 GiG unit is plugged up and vice versa?Any problems with this?...Thanks!

Just Discuss your mac questions in the hardware forum, no need for a seperate macintosh forum. If we had a lot of mac users I might contemplate it, but its a primarily windows/Linux based userbase on DH.

I use them myself sometimes but im just not sure we need another forum for it........ but if you want, start a poll and ill try and promote it so any mac users can vote.

Fair enough?

OS X is a bit better than "fairly nice", and their hardware is now mainly intel CPUs with intel chipset motherboards so im not sure what is wrong with that apart from the fact they arent really that great for upgrading as a "system".

Anyway this thread is going off track as its the feedback forum, if someone wants to start a poll let me know and ill monitor it. ill close this one. thanks.
