I don't mind the position of the new ad but what I find strange is that whenever I post a quick reply, I get a blank screen with just the ad...

yeah same here. It makes me REALLY not want to post.
and also I DO mind the position of the ads. Put them at the top. make them the first thing we see...its all good. its all fair. Bandwidth needs paying for. But break up threads with ads?! NO! I really dislike this.
Ultimately its up to you Allan. I know its been a struggle with advertising, but I prefered intelliTXT to this current setup. I SUPPOSE I could live with the ads breaking up the treads if the ads after posting a thread were eliminated...
edit: nvm you responded to the other post. its being looked into.
awesome.

lol for goodness sake relax guys, either we close the forum while we work on them and you lose the site or you deal with a few quirks here and there in the meantime.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Still don't like it's location breaking up the thread but Gemini said it. Guess ya gotta pay for everything & leave it to M$ to want their ad positioned RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING.....

yeah I dont like it either, however we are going to try some alternative ideas next week. sorry about this guys we will do our best to make them not intrude too much. At least we run all our own ads now on the DH server and dont use anything that tracks, pops ups, has sound or causes issues.....

It bothered me so much I decided to click on all of them in hopes the giant MS ad in the middle would go away.

I didn't even know there were any adverts. I've got all ads & pop-ups blocked. Had to temporarily allow them to know what you were talking about.
Doesn't bother me at all - In fact, please increase the number the ads!!!

And for that I'm grateful, it prevents performance issues, and makes the site easy to whitelist.

dude...what a punk. I UNBLOCKED all ads because of driverheaven. Only reason ads get more intrusive is because people block em more.
anyway sadly I'm still getting the ad after posting. :-\
edit: Strange...I only get the ad after posting in the Extreme forum.
very very strange. it doesnt happen here now.

At first, I thought you did away with all the rest of the site and kept only the Gaming and News.

im not seeing any ads in threads other than the side adds, as an opinion i could live with thread breaking ads, but id like to see the the ones that act as a post with info in it aboutthe add to not break up the flow of the thread (Like the ones in the pics above, which i have yet to experiance my self.)
what i do see is this on the fron page.
I personall think this is great spot for an ads as it line up with the other adds along the side and present all the adds in one horizontal area of the main page, though this maynot be the best for producing actual clicks on the adds as ones sporadically throughout the main page might have a higher overall click production, also why not 2 ads in the space on the main page where the microsoft add is? keeps its size, shift it to the left or the right and add another of the sama size but for something else.
Kinda like this
another thing about thread adds, i can see them being a lil more beneficial to the site when for when people link directly to a post or a post comes up after someone googled a subject.
