Ok, another question.. sorry for asking so much in one day, I sound like spamming..

I have a dvd player that outputs coaxial, I assume SPDIF or PCM.

So I also have the SB009x Audigy (10k2) with the AUD_EXT (the 40 pin older connector, NOT the one pictured in the knowledgebase). I don't have the 40 pin bracket thinggy

From what I have read, the SPDIF IN should use pin 6(and its next door neighbour ground), or pin 15(and its next door neighbour ground)...

The question is, which one do I use and how to set up the "mixer" so I can output the coxial input to the regular "Rear" speaker (the swap made default by the kx drivers)

Sort of like an computer "receiver/amplifier".. kind of like the minidisk deck like in the other thread I asked. I don't need to "record it". just "monitor". If this was for MIC in I can set it up, but since there is 2 SPDIF in.. its somewhat confusing.

I am assuming that spdif is the same voltage as coxial..

sort of like what was requested below...

Connecting PS2 to PC SPDIF In

Hi there,

I'm having a problem so far... I am a webradio-mod and for this I'm using mAirList as my playback-program. Now I told this program to use Wave 0/1 for the first player, Wave 4/5 for the second player. Problem is, that it doesn't seem to have any effect, it all comes out at Wave 0/1.
I tried the same thing with Winamp, just to change to Wave 4/5, but it continues playing on Wave 0/1 either...

Any solutions?

Best regards,

Hi!
It seems to me, that the last version of kx-drivers wich supported Vienna SoundFont Studio was 3541.
Version5.10.0.3550 does not support it. Vienna just says "No soundfont devices" on start and refuses to work. I tried 5.10.0.3550 with different soundcards (Live! and Audigy 2 ZS notebook) and with different versions of Vienna (2.3 and 2.4), but Vienna does not work. So I had to rollback to version 3541 in order to make Vienna work.

The question is: am I right, or am I doing something wrong? I'd like it very much to have the latest version of KXProject drivers installed and to edit soundfonts the same time. Any suggestions?

Hello
As many already know Vista and it's younger brother Windows7 seems to not like 16bit/48KHz setting and give strange background noise when there is any application using sound eg. winamp :x And this noise is on any sound card so it is definitely coming from vista/win7 sound subsystem  When in any sound card I set eg. 24/96 there is no noise at all...

And as KX uses 16/48 for everything else than buggy "Master Mixer" (which clicks and pops :uhoh:) I and everyone else have to listen to this annoying noise :hmm:

Is there some way to force 2/3 to something that doesn't give noise like 16/96, 24/48, 32/48, 32/96 etc. ? Or atleast is there a way to make Master Mixer not to click and pop as it give no noise as it is 32/48?

ps. I have Audigy4PRO, if it can help somehow solving this issue...

I'm having pretty serious ASIO/latency issues.

For whatever reason, I cannot for the life of me get my ASIO to play at lower than 21ms without getting massive distortion in every DAW I use (Cubase SX, Cubase 5 and Ableton).

I never had an issue with this before reformatting my PC. I've done all the tweaks that had been suggested to me in regards to virtual memory and the like in WinXP.

I'm at a loss? Suggestions?

I'm about to ditch kX altogether and my trusty E-MU APS for something more reliable.

PLEASE HELP! I can't stand this anymore as I play a lot of stuff into my DAWs real-time.

Hi,

I was wondering has anybody tried to clock Live or Audigy cards from external clock via SPDIF? Does it improve the audio quality of recordings? I think in theory it should, if the external clock is considerably more precise...

Other question, does CT4830 have any SPDIF input, which itself converts Coax SPDIF signal to TTL? Like CD_SPDIF does on other versions of Live cards (if I have understod correctly). My card's CD_SPDIF pins are missing.

Greetings. I just today decided to stop using my onboard audio (Realtek) and start using my good old Audigy2 ZS Platinum, primarily because the only MIDI solution afforded by the onboard audio was Windows' built-in synth, which is a 3MB soundfont using a different (and rare) standard. I could never find a replacement for it. My box is a Core i7.

Lots of soundfonts out there, though.

So anyway, I've gotten my hands on about a half dozen different soundfonts, and a couple sound pretty good. But all of them have the same problem: Whenever I'm actually playing MIDI music, there's a chance the playback will emit a disconcertingly loud pop. I'd say it happens two or three times per minute. Associated with these pops is occasional, subtle crackle. The pops SEEM to occur (in terms of stereo spatiality) specifically wherever one of the MIDI instruments is playing, implying that the fault is in playback of individual MIDI voices, rather than the final mixdown. I've already tried giving every available buffer as much extra room / time as the driver settings allow, to no avail.

An observation: The pops have reverb, a-la the "Reverb Lite". So they're being generated somewhere before that process.

Any suggestions? While I love the way the music sounds now, the pops are jarring and probably damage my ears (using headphones). Barring a solution, I'll have no choice but to return to the onboard Realtek / 3MB MIDI.

Hey guys, I'm trying to play the demo for FEAR 2 to make sure it works on my computer. At the start it gives me a "sound acceleration error".

After searching the net, many of the solutions other people used involved disabling other audio devices besides their sound card, like bluetooth headsets and even phone modems.

kx, however, is my only device. I have other audio codecs and legacy drivers, I don't know if those would interfere.

So I know kx divides up the card into 0/1, 2/3, and so on. Is that what could be causing the conflict? If so, is there a way I could disable everything except 0/1 and work around it?

Well, after hesitating for some days I finally decided to get my hands on the brand new OS everyone is talking about, namely: Windows 7 (x86); however, much to my dismay the Creative Drivers don't work in the new OS (rending thus my computer unable to produce sound), and after hours of surfing the web to find a possible solution, I stumbled (once again :p) upon Kx... and decided to give them another try...

So, I installed the 3550 version, and rebooted and everything seemed to be just fine... except... there's still no sound!! (perhaps it's just a matter of settings, maybe I have to set my headphones in the mixer or something)... I am DESPERATE to find a solution ASAP... Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!! =)

EDIT: I used the test function in the mixer, and since it showed the "Unable to produce sound" popup, it clearly is not a matter of the headset... but rather of real inability to produce sound :( .
