Hi everyone, i have a toshiba satellite p205d-s7802 with some serious issues. Ever since i got it i have had problems with it going to a blank screen while using it, it would go to a black screen, but the backlight would stay on but if i were to reboot it it would work fine until i was done with it, rather irritating but i didnt use it all that much and just dealt with it. that went away mysteriously and new problems arose that mke me wish that i had that old one back. i have lost use of my right and down directional keys, my right shift key, my zero and one keys on the number pad and my period key on the letter keypad. now it is really irritating me and is almost ready to go in the trash. i have run all sorts of spyware, malware, and just about every other scan on it that i could. i dont want to put a ton of money into it if it is going to be a piece of crap. does anyone have any ideas what my problem(s) may be? i was originally thinking that it was a virus or something but im starting to lean towards it being the keyboard going bad. (posessed perhaps?) Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Richard

Alright, I've about had it with this Toshiba laptop that I am attempting to repair. Essentially here is the issue. Before, the laptop was running on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. Customer was experiencing terribly slow boots to the OS (about 3 minutes give or take) and when I received it I was also getting lock-ups at the desktop. Memory checks out fine as well as the HDD. Temps are good on the processor so I kind of ran out of things to try hardware wise. Next, I booted in safe mode backed up all of their files and asked them if they just wanted me to try a new OS install. So I threw in a nice new copy of Windows 7 64-bit (since once I actually get this problem solved they want 4GB of RAM pending that the laptop is not a total wreck). Now we have a brand new OS and after the painful process of installing the drivers for the vid card (DriverHeaven's mobility modder doesn't include support for the X1200) this lap top is zooming everywhere. However, we still have the problem a few days later that the laptop is booting painfully slow.

any thoughts?
I don't work with enough Toshiba's to know if this is a known issue or not and researching the problem has yielded nothing.

all the specs for the laptop can be found at the link below:

Hey guys,

I've had a problem with my notebook that I can't solve, since I've installed windows 7 RTM x64 version.
I've noticed that something's wrong after finding out that my Windows Experience Index has dropped to 2.7 instead of 4.5, I used to have on Vista. For those who don't know my specs are:
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60, for which I've got 2.7 rating, 4Gb Kingston DDR2-667 (333 MHz) - 4.4, scores of graphics and hard-drive are the same.

I've read at the one of forums that it can be an issue with power saver options, but it hasn't got any option which says about processor frequency changing according to power plan. I've also installed new 2.0 version of BIOS from Toshiba web-site, but it only made things worse: I've got 6.0 rating of gaming graphics but Desktop Perf for Aero has dropped to 1.0!

I've installed some diagnostic software: Everest and CPU-Z and I found out that my CPU works with frequency of 800Mhz (multiplier is 4x , voltage 0.8V) and my DRAM frequency is 159.8Mhz (I don't know if it's ok, but I know that 4.4 score is definitely too low though ).

So tell me guys, is this an issue of operating system? Should I try to install Windows 7 32-bit version, or it won't change anything? Or maybe I should try some software that would change the frequency of my FSB?
I'm looking forward to your answers because I don't know what to do.

I am unable to start the 3650 only the 3200 gets recognized. so far I tried all sorts of drivers from 9.5 to 9-10 CCC. I tried disabaling and enabling 3200 and 3650 in all sorts of patterns with alsmost no results once i managed to get 3650 to start up only to find out it reseted itself somehow during one of the nights. worked with both gpus being recognized for a day or so. But now only 3200 is able to be started and 3650 gets a code 10. :( any ideas?

PowerXpress only goes in power conserve mode so 3200 only won't switch to 3650. :(

Running windows 7 64bit.
Asus M51TA-x2
Any help would be great!

Morning gents/ladies...First post, so please excuse my newbness, as I may not be familiar with the boards protocalls. ...but I wanted to post here, to kinda of ask questions as to what I might expect out of the new Alienware M15x, I'm receiving in December with the i7 720QM ,260M, Dual 4ghz 1033's. I'm coming from the Dell Inspiron 6000, which is pretty old, I'd guess. I'm really excited about it to say the least. I'm only looking spend in that $2000.00 price range, and was also wondering if I should be considering the upgrade on the processor. Is that where the bottle neck would be if any? Thanks to all who are helpful.
