Does it matter for only Playback?

I'm using kX driver 3538h and mainly use my computer for playback (MP3, CD/DVD, Game) I'm NOT into music creation/production/recording. Does DSP settings really make a difference? If so, care to show me the guide? Thanks

The routing and FX-generation works anyway completely inside of the DSP, so if you move a slider in the kX-mixer, a register in the DSP will changed. For you the only difference is, that you have a great inprovement in using all possibilities of the card and the driver to create your own special and unique setup. Read the setup-guide on top of this forum and learn, if you want.

Well, Yeah it matters for playback as was mentioned you can create your own special setup. Like some effects are great for playback such as reverb and EQ..these can go a long way to improving the overall sound of your playback system. You can just leave it stock if you prefer but if You want my advice I would say do some reading and learn how to use the DSP..even if you don't do any music production. Learn it anyway. It's not as hard as you think when your done you can do some pretty cool things with it and you'll see where the real power of KX comes from.
