Assigning per midi channel controller effects

Hey, I've been having fun using the assign function to map particular controllers to specific DSP effects (such as a lowpass and highpass filter). I'm using Cakewalk pro audio 9, and I've designated midi output 8 as the KX controller. With it I can use the pitch wheel, or other controllers, to change the assigned data.

However, I would like to know if it's possible to assign per-channel midi effects. I like the highpass filters, but only on certain midi channels.

In my DSP window, I have removed the default chorus and reverb, and added a few extra DSP effects (and removed a few others I don't use for games and all that).

I've searched the help and forums, to no avail. Does anyone have any idea, or can point me in the right direction for more info
Thanks a bunch!
