Newbie wants effects

Just happened to come across this forum today while looking for SB Live drivers. I've downloaded the driver (full version) and then noticed that there were some awsome effects mentioned under the effects link. Since I'm new here, can someone give me an idea as what I need to do in order to use these effects. I presently use other applications which give me various effect which I can use along with my guitar. I'm guessing this will let me do the same....

Hi there,

Read the help file, especially the "DSP Guide", check out the "docs" section of the kXproject website, then have a bit of a play with the kX DSP. Remember, you can always restore the settings if u get into trouble!

You'll find all the fx when u right-click the dsp window under "Add Effect/Plugin", then it's a matter of connecting your inputs to your outputs, using virtual cables, like you would a stompbox for your guitar.

I'm a relative newbie but I've quickly come to grips with these drivers by experimenting and reading these forums, You'll be amazed with the processing power of the humble sblive

Sing out if you need a hand!

Thumbs Up!

Thanks ADMK, I just installed it last evening and guess I have a long way to go before I can acutally figure out how I can use it as an effects processor for my guitar. I managed to add a 10 band equalizer and distortion but ended up figuring out what to do next. Would you have an easy solution to help me get up and going with my guitar plugged into the mic of my SBLive card and use some nice distortion. Maybe I don't have to reinvent the wheel if somone already has a nice heavy metal preset. Thanks again for the reply.

I think Gonzo has a site with some setups for guitar, vocals, etc.. u can find the link on the second page of a thread called "Kx plugins in SX ??" in this forum...
I haven't tried them, but u can get a good idea from the screenshots he has included in his RARs...
