Surrounder+ not work

Hi,
I installed new drivers kX Windows7 x64 in 3550 with a SBAudigy2 ZS.

The problem: does not work in settings Surround + 5.1 with surround on. Only the front speakers works.
With movies 5.1 the other speakers work.
What can I do?

My guess is that the routing is still broken in Vista/Windows 7 (which was a known issue in some earlier versions of kX). Surrounder+ needs audio routed a certain way in order for it to work correctly.

i.e.
Stereo signals that you want upmixed should be routed to the top 2 pins of Surrounder+. All other pins are used for directional audio (and downmixing). From your description, it sounds as though your stereo only signal is coming from FxBus 2/3 and is being routed to the 3rd/4th pins of Surrounder+ (normally such signals use FxBus 0/1).

You can work around the issue using custom DSP routing, but if both stereo only signals and the signal for multichannel/directional front left/right are using the same routing/bus, then Surrounder+ has no way of differentiating between them, so you would need to use separate configs for stereo only audio and multichannel/directional audio.

This does seem to still be a issue. Are you aware of a thread that detailed a fix for this? I moderately understand the DSP now, but some of it, and routing, are still unclear.

The issue was that stereo audio gets routed to 3D front (FxBus 2/3), and was first mentioned back with something like 3540.

i.e.
no sound coming out from fxbus 0/1

(note that the wave device names have changed since then (4/5, 6/7, 8/9 are now 2/3, 4/5, 6/7))

The workaround was to connect FxBus 2/3 (note: you should use peak plugins to check which FxBus pins are being used (maybe it is 2/3, 4/5 or 6/7)) to the top 2 pins of xrouting, but only when playing stereo only (wave) audio (otherwise your front channel (with movies (decoded AC3, etc)) will get upmixed too, which you do not want.)

BTW: Master Mixer is supposed to be the default device in Vista/Windows 7.
