A2zsnb
I've also noticed that If I insert an effect like reverb between the SRC and MIXY8 with the A2zsnb the sound becomes all garbled. Are the effects not compatible with I2S? I quess it's something to do with the buss of this type of card. Is there any settings that can be changed that will prevent this?
Dell laptop, 1.4 G. ,256 ram, win 2k

AFAIK, that should not be an issue with the SRC plugins.
I think the issue is related to xTRAM (host memory) access over the PCMCIA interface (which was discussed a little in the a2zsnb thread), although it is hard to say from the limited info (and if the card is supposed to support ASIO (i.e. with the CL driver), I wonder how bad it could possibly be (provided the laptop meets whatever minimum system requirements, etc)).
Is the problem with all effects that use xTRAM extensively (Reverb, Delays, etc), or is it just Reverb?
Does Reverb work OK for you with any other DSP configs?
I am not sure which Reverb plugin you are speaking about, but, instead of using Reverb as an insert type effect, try using it as a send type effect (this is generally how they should be used, if the plugin does not offer dry/wet mix controls itself) and see if you have better results.

Russ,
It's all of the effects that use xTRAM. The effects are fine for soundfonts but on the analog inputs is were it falls apart.
I'll try using it as a send effect but am not quite sure as to how this will help.

If that is the case, then again, it would seem to indicate that the problem is with accessing host memory (xTRAM is host memory) over the PCMCIA bus. I am not sure that anything can be done for this.

That statement is confusing, as it gives the impression that it works OK with wave inputs (i.e. FxBus), etc, in which case, it would seem to be a different issue.

It will not help if the PCMCIA bus is the problem. It is only a suggestion to verify that the issue you are noticing is not the effect itself (Reverb can sound muffled when used as an insert type effect, etc).

i tried it with a2zsnb and some effects and on my system all is working very well. maybe you have to much other devices with the same irq than the pcmcia slot. try also to close all the services you donŽt need.
i use also the net on this notebook and only use 6 services. you have to adjust your dell to maximum.
look at http://www.gadmusic.net/KXGerman/images/services1.gif
http://www.gadmusic.net/KXGerman/images/services2.gif
and http://www.gadmusic.net/KXGerman/images/services3.gif
youŽll see the services on my notebook.
