ProFX and WinMM Recording

Would somebody be so kind as to give me a quick overview on how to record with say... Windows Sound Recorder using ProFX?

I have things setup as follows for testing purposes:
[SRC (FXBus 0/1)]-[L/R] -> [In1L/In1R]-[MX6]-[RecL/RecR] -> [Out8L/Out8R]-[k2lt (WinMM Rec)]

There is clearly an output from FXBus 0/1, which I set to record and unmuted in MX6, yet I get nothing when trying to record in applications that don't support ASIO. The way I understand it, WinMM Recording just "maps" itself to Windows recording (which isn't muted), is that correct?

Any insight on this would be great!

Make sure that recording is enabled for that channel in MX6 ("R" button should be RED, and you should see movement on the built in "Record" peak meter).

Well, I'll tell you what, I'm not sure what I did, but it works now...

The record button was red before, but I wouldn't get any feedback from the record peaks. Maybe a bad connection in the DSP window?! Either way, I'm not complaining...

also be sure to have your x-tram enabled, otherwise windows mm recording wont work properly (I do not know the minimum amount of x-tram, set in 'Settings ->Setup Buffers').

Hm... Good advice. Thanks!

So many things I didn't know about from when I was just using kX "out of the box". I've got alot to learn! Things have been sounding a heck of alot better since I've leanred to use the DSP window properly though.
