DC Pro Live Update
Just wondering how long it usually takes DC to update. When I click the live update button it just sits there in the "Checking for Updated Files" stage. I have Zone Alarm configured to allow DC to communicate and have also tried shutting down ZA, but DC live update just sits there. I assume that if I was up to date I would get some kind of "No update needed at this time" message or something like that, but it just sits there doing nothing. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 1.2 and that did not help either. Any advise Spike?
EDIT-- Just checked the log and here is what it says:
Download failed... Error code
0
200
I get the same error code for each failed download. Could there be some XP service associated with DC Live Update that needs to be enabled. I do have my services pretty trimmed down.

About the services i don't know, but Live Update uses winsock this is something build into windows. I am not sure what services winsock uses and if it uses any services. Will need to do a search for that. So for now i can only say that i will investigate it and see what i can find. If it is a bug in Live Update i wil fix it.

As always, thanks for the prompt reply Spike. Just to confirm I am using DC Pro 1.2 build 27. I also checked my ZA logs just to make sure it was not blocking DC and it is not, although I already pretty much knew this as DC live update failed with ZA turned off also.

Ahhhhhhh, got her figured out. It was my AV (NOD 32). The Internet Monitor IMON can be a little restrictive sometimes and I have had trouble in the past with with other applications when it was enabled. So I went in and disabled IMON and DC Live Update snapped to life.
It is a shame that we have to run our systems so tight we can not even update a trusted program anymore. But hey, I would rather run tight than have to formatt due to some virus or trojan.
Thanks for the great program Spike and keep the NOD 32 IMON thing in mind if some other poor sap has a problem with DC Live Update when all else seems normal.

Thanx for telling and glad it works now. I will keep it in mind in case someone else has the same problem.
And indeed these days you really need to thighten up your pc, because it is a mess on the internet with virusses and trojans.

The live update for the pro version is offline already for a long time, because we stopped with the pro version. Only the paid versions have Live Update now.
