Hi thanks for quick response.
No it did not work, still same problem with inf file not found. I went into: C:\ATI\SUPPORT\6-4_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_31959\Driver\2KXP_INF and looked at file: CX_31959.inf Again the IGP 9000 is listed as: "ATI MOBILITY IGP 9000" = ati2mtag_RS300M, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5835 While my hardware is listed above as DEV_7835, which is not in the inf file. Might it be toshiba made their own video card to ATI specs? but not really to spec ;-_- Also I tried using update driver via device manager but it failed to install. What information would you like me to gather for you?(if any would help) |

Hi.
I was trying to install Catalysts 6.5 on my Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo-A A6600 notebook. It has IGP 320M. I've used DH Mobility Modder V3, but drivers don't work. Whem I'm trying to install, installer says that drivers are incompatibile with my card. I've installed driver manually from device manager, but when installation is almost complete, monitor goes black, and that's over. I've installed old drivers back. What should I do to use newer cats? Help me, please... Last edited by najfeld; May 26, 2006 at 04:26 PM. |

Hey najfeld I suggest you try the latest omega ati drivers, I think catalyst 6.3 if you aren't up to that yet. Otherwise I am no help.

Catalyst 6.5 CP -Mobile
Hi @ all...
first of all thx for the great work... My Problem: I tried to install the newest Catalyst Driver from http://www.ngohq.com/showthread.php?t=6306 because I don´t want to use the CCC Version, but the old CP version... Patching with DH Mobility Modder was succesfull, but CP was not installed on my Notebook (only the driver was installed) -what could be the Problem? Thx Matt |

I have a compaq presario x1028cl
It has a radeon mobility 9200 device instance id: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&SUBSYS_08600E11&REV_01\4&1BF A44D4&0&0008 hardare ids: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&SUBSYS_08600E11&REV_01 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&SUBSYS_08600E11 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&CC_030000 PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4C66&CC_0300 I've tried the standard drivers and the mobility drivers with the standard results (neither one recognizes my card). I tried dhmodtool3.exe on the standard drivers and it tried to recognize my card as a radeon 9000 when I installed them. When the machine came up, it wasn't right. It's a little hard to explain what the screen looked like. It kinda appeared that part of the screen was drawing over another part of the screen (which made selecting items out of dialog boxes pretty amusing). I tried the omega drivers without dhmodtool3, with much the same result (i.e. it recognized the card as a radeon 9000 and the screen was futzed up). I'm back to the old, buggy 2 year old drivers -- and looking to you guys for guidance. |

Ok, this is my first post here, but it's going to be a lengthy one.
I've read that many Mobility Radeon 9200 users are having trouble installing the latest Catalyst. Well, I was one of them (if I weren't, I wouldn't have searched for that specific model... =b). Anyway, I found a way to have my Mobility Radeon 9200 drivers updated to Catalyst 6.5 (the latest that I know of). And yes, it's using the original/generic driver, not IGP or Mobility ones. To cut things short, let's just get on how to get things done. First is to download the generic driver from ATI. Click here if you're too lazy to find where. I only downloaded the driver only package (~12MB), so I don't know if this'd work on the complete package. Now run the setup, in which it definitely won't install since it can't find a suitable driver for your VGA (lies! =b). After the miserable error, open up Windows Explorer and head down to this folder : C:\ATI\SUPPORT\6-5_xp-2k_dd_32464 At least that's the path in my system, but yours shouldn't vary by much. Btw, it's good to have your hardware ID stored in a text file; it'd come in handy for this DIY routine. Now look for the file named INSTALL.INI, and open/edit it (even Notepad'd do fine). Find a string which corresponds to the string after the DEV_ string in your hardware ID. My hardware ID is 'PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_816B104D', so I'd look for a '5C61' string in the INSTALL.INI file. There should be two occurences in the file, and you actually only have to replace one of them (one for Win2k, one for WinXP), but it's safer to just change both. You should see a string like 0x5C61:0640174B, or something else, depends on your hardware ID's DEV_ value. Now look at the SUBSYS_ string of your hardware ID, and copy the numbers after it. In my case, since mine is 'SUBSYS_816B104D', I'd copy '816B104D'. Create a new text file and make a string which looks like this : 0x5C61:816B104D Basically, the structure is : Code:
0x5C61:816B104D | | v v DEV_ SUBSYS_ or simply 0x(DEV_):(SUBSYS_) Now look at the INSTALL.INI file again and replace '0x5C61:0640174B' with the new one, '0x5C61:816B104D'. The first occurence should be for Win2k systems, while the second one should be for WinXP systems. You could replace only one of them, depends on your OS, but replacing both strings won't hurt either. Again, in your system, the DEV_ and SUBSYS_ value may vary, so change it accordingly. But keep in mind that the one you replace must be the string with exactly the same DEV_ value. Save the INSTALL.INI file, and close it. Now open up CX_32464.INI (or C2_32464.INI if you're using Win2k). Find the string which corresponds to your DEV_ value; mine is, of course, '5C61'. You'd find the same string pattern as in INSTALL.INI. Like in INSTALL.INI, replace the string (which is '0x5C61:0640174B') with '0x5C61:816B104D'. Again, '816B104D' is my SUBSYS_ value; change it with your own SUBSYS_ value. Save the file, and close it. Now go inside the 2KXP_INF folder. Open up CX_32464.inf (or C2_32464.inf if you're using Win2k). Again, find the string which corresponds to your DEV_ value; mine is '5C61'. In my case, it's the value for : "RADEON 9250 Series" or the whole string should be : "RADEON 9250 Series" = ati2mtag_RV280, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_0640174B Now replace the default hardware ID ('PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_0640174B') with your own. In my case, the string is changed to : "RADEON 9250 Series" = ati2mtag_RV280, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_816B104D Note that you can change the name of the device to anything you want. Just change the string between the two double-quotes. In my case, I changed mine to : "MOBILITY RADEON 9200/9250 Series" = ati2mtag_RV280, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_816B104D Or you could change it to : "l33t OLD VGA OF MINE" = ati2mtag_RV280, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5C61&SUBSYS_816B104D Use your imagination. =) Though I'm not responsible of anything that might happen if the device name string is too weird and messes your system up. =b Anyway, save the .inf file and close it. Now run Setup.exe again, and now it should correctly identify your VGA and install the corresponding driver files. It should ask you to restart your system, so do so. If all is well, your system should run fine and your VGA's driver is updated to the latest Catalyst. FYI, my laptop is a Sony VAIO PCG-V505EC, with a Mobility Radeon 9200 (32MB). I hope this manual method would work fine on your system too. Remember to use your own DEV_ and SUBSYS_ value. Btw, it doesn't matter if your VGA isn't the one listed in the .inf file even though the DEV_ value is the same. Like in my case, it should be for Radeon 9250 series, but it works fine for my Mobility Radeon 9200. So, just take your chances, replace the string which has the same DEV_ value (in all three files), and see if it works. Good luck! =) Last edited by sh1leshk4; Jun 4, 2006 at 02:04 PM. |

Ok, out of curiosity, I've tried installing the driver bundle which includes CCC.
Everything's working out fine; CCC runs fine and has no troubles. I even tested by playing Need For Speed : Most Wanted, and no crashes whatsoever. OC-ing works just fine; using ATITool, I managed to crank up from 210/230 (Core/Mem) to 240/262. It's just that the files that you need to edit is one folder deeper. =) They're under the Driver folder of the extracted setup files. And yes, CCC is ugly. I'm sticking to the old CP, cleaner & leaner. |

Vista and IGP 345
Hi, got Vista working on a Vaio PCG-FRV26 with workarounds based on XP driver. Lots of issues still need resolved, but for basic use, it will do. Anyone have luck modding the Vista drivers? I modded them, but after updating the driver, they will not load after reboot. After closer examination, a lot of the older chipsets appear do be dropped.
If there's anyone else out there in a similar situation, let me know. I would love to get Vista working without any issues with this chipset, I know there's a lot of people hoping this will work, but not ready to try. |

Maybe, this is a Microsoft question, but maybe someone knows the answer here. I have Windows XP Pro x64 and have gotten past the 'Thunk.exe', 'Richtx32.ocx', downloading and reinstalling Run-time stuff from Microsoft, and I can't get the software to work.
I still keep getting "Run-time error '52'". I have no problem with the Visual Basic 6.0 install, but the Windows Script 5.2 comes up with an error stating 'This software isn't digitally signed.. blah .. blah" and won't install. Anyone run into this problem and knows a solution? I appreciate the help. I'm really starting to regret upgrading to Windows x64. Also, anyone here know how to develop drivers? I don't know anything about it and want to know if someone can develop a 64-bit driver for something for me. Thanks!! |

FireGL Drivers
Hi,
has anyone out there tried to do the mod with a FireGL 5000? I dowloaded the lasted drivers for desktop FireGL (v 8.263), and ran it. Then ran DHModTool (Tried versions 3 and 4), both with the same result - INF Error - card not found. Did a manual update of the card instead, that seems to take, but i'm not sure. First, am i supposed to use the FireGL drivers, or the Radeon Catalyst drivers? Second, how can i tell if the drivers take properly? Doing this to get HL2 going, but it doesn't seem to have made any diff. Thanks |
