Driverheaven - Driver Cleaner 3.1
Here is new release of Driver Cleaner. There are fixes and improvements in this version.
Below you find a list of the things that are changed since 3.0: Added: - See the size from the backup folder in the options menu - Enable or disable the splash screen - NVFix Updated: - Language Files Read the Readme. IMPORTANT: uninstall the older version first before you install this version. For uninstalling nVidia drivers i recommend putting the backup functions on and the full registry backup on. If something goes wrong you can restore it. Also if you get an error with installing new drivers, please send me the directories in the backup folder, so i can check and locate the problem than. Or mail me if you want to ask more how to send it, but don't use the restore before you sended it. It is for nVidia, ATI, Creative, Turtle Beach, SIS Graphics and 3Dfx. It will remove anything that is left by the drivers after uninstall. You can download the new version here. If you use Driver Cleaner either for personal or business use and wish to support development so i can continue to improve this product, please donate some money. Every little bit helps in my long hours of developing this tool to further aid the community. See the Driver Cleaner website for a link or check the readme or help file for more details. What happens when you ignore that does the program install and work?

Ok redownload it again. I changed that file in the installer with the version i used in 3.0. Since 3.1 i used a newer version of that msvbvm60.dll so that could be the problem. Now is the older version back in the installer, the same version that is used in 3.0.

I redownloaded it, no change. I still get the exact same error. I can install 3.0 with no issues, but no go with 3.1. Same goes for the other program.

I do not know if they have a driver cleaner features suggestion thread, but I would love to see a removal tool for the onboard Intel Extreme adapters.

This is my first time using the cleaner. I did everything the way it said in the readme, but after rebooting Windows still installed the ATI drivers. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have two copies of the SP1.cab in different locations. Exact same file though. Maybe I should try overwriting the original SP1.cab with the cleaned one. Any thoughts on what the problem could be?

f0rbez i had that also, it is because windows connects to the internet and downloads drivers from microsoft. Do you have cable or adsl? if so unplug that cable that goes to your pc when you reboot. Than windows will ask if you want to install the standard display drivers and you can say no. You will be aksed this 2 times.

That is the one thing I forgot to do, shut off my modem. I'm going to try this again soon with the modem unplugged. But when it asks to install the standard display drivers, I want to select no? Just want to make sure. |
