driver kx for ct 4620 creative soundcard

I have a vs88o roland 8 track digital audio recording machine which backs up to either a 48 or 44 khz dat.I am trying to use my pc with sfd out and in as a dat. it records fine onto my pc and in the properly matched sample frequency( 44-48 khz) but when comes the time with the digital (sdf out) rca to for the3 vs880 roland to recover the back up from the computer (acting as a dat) the vs880 does not recognize it.

Is it then that the sdf out is not sending its signal or that there is an inherent incompatibilty in the sample rates despite it being 48 or 44 khz the sample rate matched by the machine?
