Driverheaven - ATI File Version 3.7
Hi guys,
Here is a new version of DH ATI File Version. This program is small and will show from 8 important files the version number. It will now display what Catalyst version you have.
Added:
- Detection of Catalyst 3.7 drivers and control panel
You can download it here.

What were the drivers you had installed before the 3.7?
Did you clean the previous good?

WinXp. Before 3.7 I had Cat. 3.5 (modem user). Control panel should be 3.5, but might be that it is even older. I removed previous Cats by just using Windows Add/Remove tool. Then reboot and installing new drivers.
Just downloading your Driver Cleaner...

CONTROL PANEL VERSION BUG
Probably because of the BIG BUG in the control panels
Look at rage 3d for more informations in the official 3.7's Thread...
The separate downloads of the 3.7 drivers and control panels have caused a lot of troubles. (me included)
MUST DOWNLOAD THE ALL IN ONE PACKAGE TO RESOLVE !!!!!!
Just a suggestion! GOOD LUCK!

Bug?
I don't know about that. I download the separate files and everything went smoothly for me. The DH ATI File Version does show Catalyst and Control file versions as 3.7. On a side note, I used Windows uninstall program to get ride of the other version (3.6). I knew they were uninstalled when windows reverted back to the ugly 640x480 version.
So basically this is how I installed the new version:
1. Downloaded seperate files.
2. Disconnected network cable.
3. Uninstalled 3.6 Driver and Control Panel.
4. Rebooted.
5. Installed 3.7 Display Drivers.
6. Rebooted.
7. Installed 3.7 Control Panel.
8. Rebooted.
Well, anyway, that worked for me just great.

BWX that is correct. So you have 3.7 installed? I think it is indeed because of a small mixup by ati in the CP.

Excellent tool! Thank you for writing it.
Any chance you could write a similar tool for nVidia nForce chipset drivers? The nForce drivers are currently pretty poor as a whole, yeah they work but there have been some very dodgy releases like the 2.41 and 2.42 releases with problematic installers and uninstallers, so a tool like this would be invaluable in verifying the driver versions installed.
If you do embark on such a tool I would be happy to bug test report for you.
Ah, but I see you have a P4 system, which means you are unlikley to write such a tool.

I will look into it. I wrote a lot of things without the hardware for it. Like the ATI cleaning file i wrote it without having an ati card. I switched to ati later.
