setup.exe?

Hi. i came to the mod tool for help because when i play assassin's creed for pc, i get up to the second memory block and there are sort of like scratches in the screen and i believe it is because of my old driver for my laptop. I just got this game today too so i know it can't be scratched. but anyway I came to your site and because i have a x1400 series ati modem, i did some research and apparantely downloading the 8.3 version is the best way to go for me. SO i did and got up to the part where it said run setup.exe.
Two things. 1. there is a setup application and a setup.exe.manifest (which one should i choose because the second one i can't open without some extractor i think
2. when i choose the first one, the same things downloaded when i originally installed the version 8.3

what do i do?
