Re: ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 Released

The new modder works like a charm! Thanks!
For reference:
Asus N81Vp
P8400 2.26G
Mobility Radeon HD 4650, 1GB 666MHz DDR3 <--- too bad wasn't 800MHz
Vista x64 SP1

BTW, is the modder modifying the xcode installer?
I can manually install it by opening the MSI file, but fails with the ATI installer.
I don't know if there's a difference between the two, for I don't have a ATI desktop product for refence.
Thanks Again!

Re: ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 Released

I had a slight issue with my 4570 on a Studio 1555...

After installing, the CCC would fail to start with some kind of MOM error, but I simply uninstalled everything, ran driver sweeper in safe mode and generally did the whole "how to do a clean driver install" thing, and it worked.

So if anyone else has that problem - its remnants of the old Dell drivers causing it.

Works fine now and games seem quicker!

Re: ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 Released

Hi, I checked out the MS page for the recommended MSXML 6.0 download, but there are 3 different versions. How can I tell which one i should download?

I have a IBM T60 Thinkpad laptop running MS Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

My CPU is a T2300 @1.66GHz

The options for download are

msxml6_ia64.msi
msxml6_x64.msi
msxml6_x86.msi

I am rather computer illiterate, so i'm sorry if I forgot to include all the necessary information.

Thank You in advance.

Based on your CPU, which can't run x64 nor ia64, you should choose the x86 one.
Happy modding

Any chance you'll add support for the Radeon X1x00 models?

I just tried it on the Catalyst 9.7's and the driver doesn't install properly for the X1400.

I can confirm that OpenGl is NOT WORKING with Mobility Modder 1.2.1.0 and Catalyst 9.7, at least on a HD 2600 card.

I really hope that the author of this wonderful tool will be able to fix this problem as he already did in the past.

Thanks and goodbye

mobility modder supports them, but the driver doesnt anymore. the latest official ati driver supporting the pre-hd200-series is 9.3. however, ati said they would provide support for them with the new drivers quarterly a year (this didnt happen yet, although 9.6 should have been the one to support them - wait for 9.9, maybe then..).

Ah OK.... the reason I haven't installed 9.3 is because it doesn't include the catalyst control center, so therefore I'm just using the Windows Update ATI drivers in the meantime. Thanks anyway.

Did you mean this post of Huse?
I think so as this solved my OpenGL problem.
Thank you and Huse very much!!!

Just a summary for those interested.
To fix the OpenGL problem open the registry editor (start => run => regedit) and change the "Dll" key from "atioglx2.dll" to "atioglxx.dll" in both of the following keys:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\ati2dvag
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\atifglws

Shouldn't be sticky the above linked Huse post or something similar? I think this is a common problem!

Bye

Re: ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 Released

I also have the ATI HD4570 on a Dell Studio 1555 and would like to install the modder.

I'm a bit confused as to where I should install the driver/modder because I have like 4 different directories and a lot of folders related to the ATI card and none of them are :ATI/Support

Anyone who can clear this up for me? Any files in the same directory I can look for instead?

Install the ATI Mobility Modder as you would do with any windows application, and run it.
In the ATI Mobility Modder hit "Browse" and browse to "C:\ATI\Support\9-X_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver"
where the X in 9-X is the version of the Catalyst driver you are modding. If you don't have folders in "C:\ATI\Support\" you have to download a regular catalyst driver, run setup and when it starts hit "Cancel", and then start again with ATI Mobility Modder.

When you have selected the folder in ATI Mobility Modder, the "Modify" button will be enabled: hit that button.
When the process is finished you can close the modder, and go into the "C:\ATI\Support\9-X_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu\Driver" folder and run "setup.exe".

Hope this helps.

Just to be clear, this works on Vista x64, right? Because I was under the impression that non-WHQL drivers don't work on Vista x64.

Re: ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 Released

Hello everyone, hope I'm asking this in the right section, well I had a small question that I wanted to ask. I have successfully used the ATI Mobility Modder Version 1.2.1.0 to install the ATI 9.8 Catylist Drivers onto my Gateway MX7515 which has the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 Graphics Chip/Card oh and running XP Pro SP3. Well the problem is that when I try to play most of my games I get an error stating "failed to create direct 3D device" and the game shuts down. Sometimes the game will run and then when I try to run it again it doesn't. I have the most current DirectX 9.0c drivers installed and ran "dxdiag" in the run command and checked and the drivers are ok. I then ran the video tests and most of them fail because the error states that the Display Mode is not supported or can not be switched to 640x480 16bit. I then did a WHQL digital signitures check from the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and it came out with "The file ati2dvag.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer." I belive that this is causing the problems I'm getting. Is there a fix for this? I've looked but still can't find anything. Hope someone can help me out with this problem.

I have acer aspire 7535G and
this laptop has both HD3200 and ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 4570.
I am using windows 7 32bit.

I have used mobility modder to the newest official 9.10.
The HD3200 updates fine but the 4570 does not.

I get either error message :

or
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

Help appreciated.
