ATI mobility igp 320m for Windows 7

I have an HP pavilion ze4610 that runs XP sp3 just fine.. i'v loaded windows 7 in a separate partition. it boots to a 640x480 screen. on the properties page for mobility igp 320m i get "this device cannot find enough free resources..[code 12]. i cant figure out what resources it is looking for??? i'v messed around with mobility modder. first trying 4.12 of catalyst (i think this hardware predates catalyst???). then i just copied the XP driver install files for the 320m to my hard drive and ran modder on that. all to no avail. i shld give up at this point but if anyone has any suggestions.. thanx in advance..

do you have the GART driver installed first?
