ATI X2300 installd ERROR

I have a ATI X2300 on my ASUS A8Jr and want to install the driver 9.2 . I downloaded the 9.2 disabled the UAC, modded the driver after it was extracted then tried installing the new driver. When i do that Catalyst installes correctly but the Display Driver fails to install. The error message on the report reads - "Driver Install: the specified driver package was not installed for matching devices" I was wondering if anyone can help me solve this problem any help is appreciated. Thanks, and if i need to give more specifics i can do so.
PS:I used the tools is 1.1.2.0
