Hello ! I still have a problem with my 2600M. I dont know that if this caused by the new catalyst or the new MModder but I got incedibly low FPS on all my games. With the previous version of modder I have blue screens all the time. Example:
MM 1.0 w Catalyst 8.6 - Devil May Cry 4 In DX9 - 40fps MM 1.1 w Catalyst 8.7 - Devil May Cry 4 In DX9 - 20 fps :I What should I do ? Thx (: |

Use older Catalyst drivers since they give you more fps on that game. The mod tool just ad's few lines in the .inf files so the drivers can be used with mobile chips. So in the end it's all about the drivers themselves.

Ok, so I modded (using new modder (1.1.0.0)) new catalysts (8.7) and installed driver without installing CCC => PowerPlay works - I can manage it via Vista Power Managment.
Is it possible to disable PP without using CCC? |

That's might be because your laptops device ID is different than the normal X2300 mobility. What laptop you have?

To you all that have issues that the driver don't install could you do this to give us more info of your hardware.
click start menu and select run type dxdiag to the box and click ok. The Direct X diagnostic utility will launch. In there click Save all information. Save the file DxDiag.txt to your desktop and open it. Find this part of the text file: Code:
---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 8800 GT
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0611&SUBSYS_C8023842&REV_A2
![]() ps. Since I have desktop PC and nVidia card it looks like that but yours should look similar different text on the device key and other parts

Ok, I installed the older Catalyst with the new modtool, and the problems the same. Extremly low FPS in games. I uninstalled it, tried the original MSI driver and everything OK. I have a MSI GX610 notebook.

To the people where the driver could not install. Did you also tried to install the driver through the device manager? because the device id's are in the mod files.

Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT
Manufacturer: ATI Technologies Inc. Chip type: ATI Radeon Graphics Processor (0x9583) DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz) Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9583&SUBSYS_0083106B&REV_00 Tried with Catalyst 8.6 and 8.7. When I run Setup.exe it says that it could not find a compatible device on my system. When I use the device manager to try and find drivers it doesn't find any. This is a fresh install of Windows XP with SP3 on an IMac w/ Boot Camp. |

The error in the Mobility Modder v1.1.0.0 cause the Catalyst XP 8.7, 8.6 drivers to cancel the installation ([COLOR=#7385b8]Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system[/COLOR]). To fix this you must edit(notepad or any text editor will go) files: CX_6xxxx.INI, INSTALL.INI in C:\ATI\SUPPORT\8-x_xp32_dd_6xxxx folder.
Search for line beginning with R6_97= string and replace it with R6_95=, R6_98= with R6_96=, R6_99= with R6_97=. The correct strings will look like R6_95=DriverPath_R6_95, and so on... The installer will like it. I did not tried Vista drivers, may be there is no setup-hardware issue. Good luck from Russia! Thanks to the modders for nice soft! |
