mobility radeon 9000 igp

i followed the instructions on the site and installed my new driver and CCC as instructed.

now some games wont even open... (just nothing...) and counter strike says open GL is not supported.

heres what im running:
toshiba satellite a75-s231
win xp home
mobility radeon 9000 igp

heres what i did:
dl / install ms xml 6.0
dl / install .net framework 3.5
dl / install mobility modder
extract ati files from the download here http://www.driverheavendownloads.net..._enu_60999.exe
mod the folder they were in (i did not select the actual driver, was i supposed to?) modder said everything worked right.
went to the folder C>ati>support .... setup
ran setup and installed the new drivers and CCC
reboot

and now it seems as if the CCC is working fine, but the gfx seem a bit off and games wont load and open GL isint supported etc...

dxdiag reports > Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.
the driver didnt change, much

before:
Driver Name: ati2dvag.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6444 (English)

after:
Driver Name: ati2dvag.dll
Driver Version: 6.14.0010.6783 (English)

im not sure what to do, except revert back to OEM and deal with it

Hi,

at the moment i have no idea why opengl is not working. It could be because the card is to old for the new drivers.

i think thats the main problem, if the drivers are "too new" should i try to mod an older set of drivers?

or what? (id really like to get this working)

2-d works fine (im able to do everything but render games, counter strike only runs in software mode)

is it possible that it is just overheating?

sometimes the laptop will just restart out of no where.

what are good ways to keep it cool enough? (i already have a laptop cooling pad)

I would open the laptop and remove the dust if there is any.

You can indeed try some older driver versions and mod those and see if those work.

I'm having this same problem. I have an ATI Radeon IGP 345M on my laptop and after following the instructions, nothing 3-D works anymore, but it can render 2-d games, webpages etc. fine. I tried using 8.5 instead of 8.6 but that has the same problem, I checked the case and I am not having any overheating problems as far as I can tell.
