Hi,
Firtsly who am I

: Hp 8510P (HD2006) + Vista x64 SP1
Secondary: I've got the same problem with PowerPlay, but firstly I've installed driver(8.6) without CCC and I found that the powerplay options are availible in Vista Power Menagment (and it was working -> I checked it using ATI tool). Unfortunately after install CCC the Power Play disappeared in Power Menagment

i have a problem with xp service pack 3 before i could easyly update but when ı ınstalled servc pck 3 now i cant update my displaydriver. my laptop has got ati x600 how can i resolve this problem. im taking this error

Hello everyone, I've now tested ATI 8.6 Drivers and CCC. Surprisingly it works! But I installed them not the regular way, thou I can't say if it is important... I've first modded the whole Suite. Than I've installed the driver with the device manager of Windows (and got the signature message, as used). Than I've restarted the system and installed everything with the ATI Installer (Installer, Driver [without the siganture message!], CCC and HydraVision). After a reboot everything worked as it should!!

My System-Specs: Win.Vista 32 Business SP1 ATI Mobility x1400 Hope that helps! With very kind regards, sonny2

Have you tried to install drivers thru device manager? ...without using ati drivers install software...?

I made some changes to the mod files of my program. Not a lot changed in the vista files but a few small settings changed and in the xp files more settings changed. I am not sure if it will fix the porwerplay problem, but from the posts if looks like it stops working when ccc is installed. Is that correct?

For people still with powerplay problems, try the installation way that sonny2 says. Maybe that could fix it.

If anyone wants to try the newer version please send me a PM and i will give oyu the link to download the beta.

tried sonny2 way but same result.

the thing is i can observe the clocks change with AMDGPU tool but theres no way of controlling it in windows power management or CCC.

I run a Dell Inspiron 6400 Vista 32bit SP1 enabled with a ATI Mobility x1400. Recently noticed this MM program and gave it a shot following all the steps, uninstalling previous drivers before installing the modded ones and using Driver Cleaner to clean out left overs.

Basically the 8.6 Catalyst drivers installed alright, but did not work alright. When I open World of Warcraft the laptop BSODs on me as soon as I get to the Retrieving Character screen. I get some message about hardware failure with some parity errors and weird stuff. When I open Sins of a Solar Empire I get fonts missing and very laggy performance when moving through the menus. C&C 3 works fine except the loading screen has half of it cut away into blackness and the ingame minimap is half black.

After reading through this thread I noticed people complained about 8.3-4.5 with some Power Play issues so to play it safe I downloaded and modded the 8.2 catalyst drivers. Gave them a shot and they worked well. WoW works fine. Sins of a Solar Empire too. C&C3 probably will work great as well. I'm content with the performance of 8.2 so far. However if 8.3-5 provides a significant increase compared to 8.2 I will try that out if you guys say so. Till then, 8.6 just doesn't seem to work with my setup. Hopefully something can be done but already this is impressive as I had previously resigned myself to the hopeless Dell drivers as ATI hadn't even released any Vista x1400 mobility drivers =/

Iv tried the beta mobility modder, with and without CCC installed but the results are the same:
- No info or options useable in the powerplay tab.
- No powerplay options in windows power management.

- Clocks do change on demand (monitored through AMDGPUTool.
- Clocks decrease when unplugging power cord (as per usual).

It seems that powerplay is working, however there appears to be no way to change the way powerplay works.

I've modded the 8.6 Catalyst and powerplay is working fine again, at least i think so because i haven't had the opportunity to test out the battery life of my notebook yet.

Apparently Windows Update shows that it have an update driver from AMD, but it had disappeared. Well, guess it's good news now.

I used DH Mobility Mod to upgrade my old driver, and now Catalyst 8.6 works smoothly in my notebook: Acer Aspire 5673WLMi + Vista x86 SP1. No problem with Powerplay, everything works very perfect.

I must say: this software is very excellent tool

Ive sorted my powerplay problem out , it was either me deleting all the ATI Technologies folders from the HKCU\Software and HKLM\Software and HKLM\Software\wow6432node.

or

by using the 8.52 beta drivers (not the hotfix drivers) this didnt work when i just installed over previos driver.

this was done by uninstalling everything through ati install manager, using Driver Sweeper in safe mode, then installing drivers.

Mickcasey, what you can try is install the driver through the device manager and select update driver and point to the driver on your hd. Maybe then it will install.

Why should I use this to modify the desktop drivers when I can just download the Mobility Catalyst drivers from Mobile Catalyst Download ? I'm running the Mobility 8.5 Catalyst drivers on my X1400 right now and they seem to be doing fine, though I'm looking for ways to improve my Second Life performance...

I had installed Modtoo for my HP Presario X1000 ATI Dispaly driver.
But when I finish and restart system. The system comes to blank screen.
The only way is change back to OLD Driver to makes the screen display back again.
I don't know what's happen on it. Can anyone help me?

My system detail info as below:
HP (Compaq Presario X1000)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 Display Card. (Original driver version 6.14.10.6342)
1G RAM
60G HDD
Windows XP SP2
DirectX 9.0c
.NET 2.0

Catalyst Mobility 8.6 (This is the driver version what I want to install)

powerplay died for me aswell, vista x64 HD2600 and i notice windows showing an hour and half less battery time than it normally would. Which puts me in a real delima.. the 8.6 gives me a 30% performance boost

but the lower battery life sucks

I think that is the only card that does not work at all from your list support.

DrBenson try a older driver like 7.11 or 8.2 and see if those work.

Phyx you could try an older driver and see if that also give a performance boost.

ed_co, you can send me a PM and i can give oyu the link to a beta that has a 76GL test in it. I added a few FireGL settings to that. So send me a pm and you can test that.

I had been try 8.2, still blank.
I will try 7.11 see what happen on it.

Just try out version 7.11, but still the same.

Beta driver, does not work at all... works like a hd 2600 instead firegl v5600, like I said in my post number 11 of this thread.

ed_co, that means that the only way to do it is that the sys files would be hacked. I will look into that if i can find info how that is done.

SnowEagle i am still looking at it why it happens. Can you tell me what the last driver was that worked and was it a modded 1 with Mobility Modder or 1 from the notebook maker? if so can you link me to their driver?

Hi there!

First I want to sa thanks to everbody out here, how helps and develops these tools.

Now I have a problem - I installed the MSXML_6_x86 and the NETCFSetupv2 - and the tool does not start with the Error I should install .net 2.0 or later....

What I have: Acer Ferrari 3000LMi, Win XP Pro SP3, dx 9.0c_April08, VIA Chipset with driver 4.56v, PowerNow 3.0.5....

I tried to install the ATI Catalyst for Mobility 6.5 - which seems a good choice to me, but there may be loads of guys out there with more experiance... and I would need the Modder to finish installation.
