how to make south bridge driver install on ATI mobility chipset?

Wondering if it is possible or needed to mod the ATI South Bridge driver in a similar fashion as the graphics driver in order for it to install on mobility chipsets.

I never got the SB driver to install on my XPRESS200M chipset. Lucky I don't need it for audio but still I would like to update the IDE controller drivers. Running Vistax64 and they are still the same as of the CD. I think this slows everything down.
