Mobility Modder - double ATI icons on system tray
Hello everyone,
First of all, let me congratulate Ruud Ketelaars for this wonderful app. Solved my problems with the installation of a secondary monitor in a breeze. However I noticed something today that's irking me. Apparently the new version of the Catalyst drivers didn't overwrite the old ones, because the old ATI icon is still on the system tray, as you can see here ![]() Anyone else who's had this problem, or isn't it a problem at all? I'm just worried that having two drivers to the same thing is taking an unnecessary toll on my system. |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
In general you uninstall any old drivers first then install new ones. You are seeing this because you didn't uninstall older drivers first

Hey there!
If I removed the old drivers before installing the new ones wouldn't that render the graphic card useless? I'm sure it's a stupid question but bear with me ...Anyway, is it possible to do that now? In the Add /Remove Programs menu I have three items that are related to the ATI stuff. Two of those I'm guessing are from the new drivers/software ("ATI Software Uninstall Utility" and "Catalyst Control Center"), but the third one just says "ATI Display Driver". Is it safe to remove it? |

well... to answer the first one, windows has its own native GPU drivers so there is no problem if you uninstall the old drivers first.
and the next one.... i cant really answer as theres no way to tell.... if the icons look similar, most i can say is just test you luck!
