hardware problems

i have used the tool to install graphics drivers for my notebook which has an ati mobility 9000. what i want to know : has anyone until now had his notebook damaged ( chip burned or something else ) after it used this tool ? i play cs and i think it uses the chip about 80-100 %. could the use of desktop drivers force the physical limits of my board and burn the chip ? what is the difference between the desktop drivers and mobility ones ???

It is impossible that a driver can burn a chip.

The difference between the desktop and the mobility drivers is that the mobility driver have the settings and device ids in it, so in driver there is not real difference.
