Problem with modding x700 running XP

Hi all,

I have a Samsung x20 with a Mobility Radeon x700 and i'm running Windows XP

I've followed all the steps outlined in the mod page, and the mod seems to work successfully, but when i try to install the driver, it still says that it's not compatible with my hardware.

Am i doing something wrong?

thanks for your time.

I'm having a very similar problem

Asus E83V
ATI Radeon Mobility X700
XP Pro SP2

As far as I can tell, I've followed the instructions properly.
I downloaded and extracted (by running it and cancelling) the 7-9_xp32_dd_52443 driver
I installed the MDAC or whatever and dotnet and ran the modder picking the extracted files location when prompted.
The modder says it completes successfully.
But when I run setup.exe for the "modded" files, it runs through several steps including copying driver files to system32 but finally fails with the incompatible hardware message.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

if it is possible then please post your hardware id of the mobility x700.

I think the hardware id is supported, but this happens on some mobility cards and am not sure why.

@Spike : by "hardware ID", did you mean something like this :
PNPDeviceID: PCI\VEN_1002DEV_5653SUBSYS_05601558REV_00\43A4D661 100008
